Vote Rory Fitzpatrick Into the All-Star Game!
I've noticed a lot of you guys like to go all Jihad on polls so I decided to post this link over here:
http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?p...=1#post7109201
The basic premise is this: Vote for the All-Star members on the NHL site and add Rory Fitzpatrick as a write-in vote. The sheer hilarity of seeing Fitzpatrick considered for an NHL All-Star spot would be fantastic and it would provide visual evidence for how stupid the voting system is. The link for voting is here:
http://www.nhl.com/allstarballot/index.html
We'll need a lot of votes to make it happen but HFBoards could be getting behind it along with a few other forums and the collective weight of CP would help a lot. Vote as often as you can if you're bored.

Done! I hope this catches on. I've always thought fan voting for All-Stars is a little weak.

Yep, it's terrible. It'll be even worse when we see guys like Roenick there again this year despite the fact that they're having absolutely horrible seasons. I understand it's for the fans but won't the fans have more fun at the game if the best players possible are there?

Does it have to be a canuck though?
I hate the canucks.

done. I agree, I hate fan voting, I mean I guess I understand it but it's just lame.
I hope he gets in.

It's Rory freaking Fitzpatrick! I don't know, there's just something about the name and player that make the possibility of him making the All-Star game so hilarious. It would be funny if a guy like Ritchie or Reasoner made it too but we're talking about Rory Fitzpatrick here.
Apparently about 150 000 votes should guarantee Fitzpatrick a spot so it's not undoable if we get this on a few more messageboards. Also, keep in mind the site DOES NOT track IP addresses so you can vote as many times as you want.

God I hope I hear his name in the introduction.
Also, if he's a starter, does that mean he gets invited to the skills competition? I'd love to see him do the puck handling.

Haha I can just imagine him losing the puck and having to skate over into the other guy's pylons to get it back.

Done. But I doubt even all the fansites will overwhelm the ballot boxes that are available in the concourses throughout the league. We are talking in the 10,000 to 100,000 vote range. But maybe the vote talliers will still get a laugh.

I understand the idea, but Rory Fitzpatrick isn't the pinnacle of uselessness. The idea is good, but not nearly as funny as it would be if it were a number of other players.

It doesn't matter that Fitzpatrick isn't completely useless, the player has been picked. I think it is a good idea. Keep up the voting people.

I am suprised no one is finding a way to get Rico Fata into the all star game....however this is still funny so consider it done. I bet even Rory when he gets the call will be asking if they got the right number...
This is why I love this site....great **** like this!

I dunno. Last year Espn had Svatos in their NHL MVP poll and a poll jihad by HFboards alone saw him win the poll with 50,000 votes.
If we got all of the bigger fan sites on this we could reach the 200,000 mark IMO.
