Whos a decent outside bet for Stanley cup winner?
Hi guys and girls.
I have a free $50 bet from work. So I thought I would throw it on a cup champion that's not Edm lol
I am thinking of Dallas, NYR, Mapleleafs. But what about a crazy idea of say Utah?
Thoughts.

if you want a longshot, try NSH. Utah is iffy to even make the playoffs.

We have a day at the races, which includes, drinks, dinner and a free $50 bet. I was sick so couldn't make it. I was given my voucher today.
In NZ, we are all generally held responsible for our own actions.

Modest outside shot : Carolina
Swing for the fences : Philly (missed the playoffs by 4 points and have some high end young talent coming in this year. Added bonus of similar odds to Utah)

Go for a nice return
Rangers +1300 ($100 bet)
Hurricanes + 1400 ($100 bet)
Jets +2600 ( $60 bet)
My massive longshot
Flyers +7500 (I put $40 on them for fun)
Edit, PaperBagger like the Flyers too

Pittsburgh, Nashville and Philly are all solid darkhorses. I'd add St. Louis.

For odds I like
Dallas ($50 returns $600)
Boston ($50 returns $1000)
Pitt ($50 returns $2550)
CBJ ($50 returns $11500) would be incredible if they rallied and made the playoffs after the Gaudreau tradegy.

Your suggestion of the Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup is the craziest of all. Even in NZ it should be common knowledge this does not happen!
EDIT: For the record, I would also suggest Nashville. They added the top free agents who also happen to have won Cups.

Lol My thought process is that Berube is head coach, who has won the cup with St Louis.
If Canada eventually gets the cup, I would rather it be them, over them up north

Turn off the SN there is no way the Leafs are winning 4 playoff rounds...lots of coaches have won the cup
If Canada eventually gets a cup why not the Flames, we've waited this long
Nashville is the longshot bet...they were already unlucky to lose to Vancouver who had the Oilers on the ropes and have significantly upgraded their team

Ok. I am going to split my $50 and go with the Preds, who I have a soft spot for. (My wife and I flew down to Nashville when we won 6-5 I believe, after Chucky scored the last second winner) and a long shot with the Flyers.
Tip. If you are able, do not hesitate to watch the Flames in Nashville. They love their Preds down there, and the City is amazing and so friendly.

Aside from Nashville, a lot of last years contenders didn’t make sizeable moves this offseason to get much better.
One thing to consider is the extra games being played by some who make it to the tournament this year.
Anyway, I still think Dallas looked great last year until they didn’t. They’d be my pick. Ottinger is amazing if he’s not injured. Colorado with Nichushkin back would be my second favourite.

Vancouver or Nashville would be good outside shots.

I've got some money on the no goods to miss the playoffs.
At 8.00 it's good odds and something you can cheer for all season
