I'm a light ale guy or should I say connoisseur
1) Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc - serve it very cold and your taste buds will thank you.
2) Granville Island Northwest Pale Ale - sleeper beer, extremely tasty.
3) Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier - Pricey but world renowned and good
4) Live Oak Hefeweizen - Best USA wheat ale ever! if you can find it...defiantly try it.

Guinness isn’t my favourite beer but I did vote for it all along and have no problem with it being champion. For me Guinness is the perfect pub beer at the end of a long day, ruminating with friends over the days events.
Anthony Bourdain did an episode of his “layover” show in Dublin, and must have pounded back at least 8 of them in his 24 hour stop. A pretty cool and ringing endorsement of Guinness.

Few people realize how good of a session beer Guinness really is. I have had many a night on many a Guinness. It also has surprisingly low calories when compared to other beers for the same volume:
Guinness 126
Stella 146
Coors 154
Becks 136
Corona 148
Labatt Blue 154

Yeah so many people refer to it as a “heavy” beer due to its colour. It’s so weird.
“Oh I could only drink 1 of those, too heavy”.
What?

Its probably the 70% more fibre it has than those other beers that contributes to that.
It has a lower caloric value but I certainly feel more full drinking them.

People's bodies are odd and different.
I feel much fuller drinking other beers than I do Guinness. I find that is one of the problems, I can suck back many more of those than I can say a lager or Pilsner.
Perhaps that is carbonation?

I agree with this. I think the carbonation gets to me more than others. I can drink endless Guinness and Kilkenny. I also aggressively pour my beer when I’m at home to try and cut the carbonation a bit.

Boddingtons is good too, but in that category I'll always pick a Tetleys. So good.

I was never supposed to make it out of the first round, and then to make it to the finals against a juggernaut like Guiness and lose by a single vote hurts. I'm the 2004 Flames.

Yeah it's very weird. I typically like lighter beers overall, but my favourite beer is Guinness. I don't find it heavy in any way, I actually find the opposite.

Ever had a Black and Tan? Guinness literally floats on top of lager or pale ale.

I’ve never tried Guiness but Guinness is one fine beer.
