Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2016 - Round 22

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack. almost like Shark Week on the Discovery Channel Calgarypuck and the Summer Prospect Ranking has become an institution for rabid Calgary hockey fans.

2013 - Sean Monahan is the top prospect (2013)

2014 - Johnny Gaudreau takes his turn (2014)

2015 - Sam Bennett come on down! (2015)

The last three years have had a prospect named first, and then make an impact right away on the NHL team. Bennett had to have surgery and mop up the OHL first, but all three were big players for the Flames right away.

Will that be the case again this year?

Phillips next for me. Upside is a Panarin or Zuccarello type top winger. Not sure anyone else is close, maybe Mattson but he's unproven at a high (Junior+) level.

Mitchell Mattson this time around. 6'4" and 200 lbs. already with some good offensive instincts. He struggled to transition from USHS to USHL a little, but in 3 years at Grand Rapids High, he had: GP-75, G-50, A-80, P-130. He's extremely raw, but with a lot of patience and tutelage, he could be a steal of a 5th round pick.

After it will be Schneider (showed well, albeit streaky in Stockton last year), Lindstrom, Mattson, Carroll, Culkin, and Falkovski

I don't believe any of the remaining prospects after that have potential to make it.
