FWIW I have a hardcore Habs fan friend who has absolutely loathed Therrien for years, saying that the players hate him and that he's a horrible coach.

I think they'll be shutting Price down and going full tank soon.

I guess they have experienced the joys of not having a #1 goalie... like us.

True, though goals for are down more than goals against.
Coaching is a issue. The GM also needs to take some blame. Price covered up a lot of warts. There is more going on than just goaltending problems.

It is honestly baffling that they haven't fired Therrien yet. Is there no other French-Canadian coach they can hire?

Am I supposed to be sad the Habs are a catastrophe right now? What is more impressive if the Caps running away with the President's trophy.

Based on the standings today here is where the 7 Canadian teams would draft
Edmonton-2
Toronto-3
Calgary-5
Winnipeg-6
Vancouver-8
Ottawa-10
Montreal-11
7 of the 11 bottom teams are Canadian

Does this mean we need a "Canadian Teams are No Good" thread?

I am sad because the only thing that would make me angrier than the Oilers winning the lottery would be the Habs winning it...

This shows that lack of depth can really kill you. It also shows how important star players are. As price goes, the team goes.

Norm!
Part of me smirks a little bit at the fall of the Habs.
At the start of the season there was a lot of chest beating from that fan base that insisted that with or without Price they were a contending team.
With the loss of price

This is not on Therrien.
The Habs are terrible because the Habs are terrible.

Whether or not it is on Therrien, punting the coach to jolt a team back to life is SOP. It got Ottawa and Winnipeg into the post-season last year, for example.
