FWIW I have a hardcore Habs fan friend who has absolutely loathed Therrien for years, saying that the players hate him and that he's a horrible coach.

True, though goals for are down more than goals against.

Coaching is a issue. The GM also needs to take some blame. Price covered up a lot of warts. There is more going on than just goaltending problems.

Based on the standings today here is where the 7 Canadian teams would draft
Edmonton-2
Toronto-3
Calgary-5
Winnipeg-6
Vancouver-8
Ottawa-10
Montreal-11

7 of the 11 bottom teams are Canadian

This shows that lack of depth can really kill you. It also shows how important star players are. As price goes, the team goes.

Part of me smirks a little bit at the fall of the Habs.

At the start of the season there was a lot of chest beating from that fan base that insisted that with or without Price they were a contending team.

With the loss of price

The Iron shiek of fickle hockey fate has broken their back and made dem humble
