Racking my brain the last 20 minutes as to if I can remember a better Flames shootout goal since it started in 2005-06, than the one tonight from Schlemko, in flash/skill alone. The "Forsberg" move itself isn't that new, but the opening up like he did to set it up, and as a defenceman, was new to me.
Bertuzzi had a few nice ones, a spin-o-rama that hit the post vs Luongo, then a backhanded one handed shovel move vs the Oilers...and although skillful, not as spectacular as tonight's.
Considering how statistically terrible vs average the Flames were in the shootout for at least the first 3 years, there certainly wasn't too many highlights.
Huselius did a couple moves in the Flames skills competition, but in a real game, it was a lot of squeezing the stick really hard and shootling low blocker, and hoping for the best from Iginla, Tanguay et al. I am sure Jokinen had a couple, and Colborne had a stick handling practice down the ice for another last year.
To boot, this was a key extra point in this exciting season, in a playoff race; and saved Ramo's spectacular night and Jooris' clutch tying goal.
Other memories?

New to me as well. Somebody posted a Shaq gif in the PGT -- I'm pretty sure that was from Vince Carter's first dunk in the dunk contest -- a reverse windmill. It was very much the same thing -- the windmill had been around forever but to do a reverse windmill (clean and with power) made it simply unbelievable.
As for the Schlemko goal, with the back and forth misses, Jooris tieing it up, and then Schlemko -- it was not only an amazing goal but an incredibly clutch, unexpected, and important one as well.
This was probably the most entertaining we've had:
Huselius with another serpentine goal,
Phaneuf injuries Backstrom with a slapper at point-blank range,
Iggy with a beauty deke top-corner for the win.
Anyone else blow a sigh of relief when the B's put Lucic out there? You already knew exactly what was going to happen. Then the Flames call on Schlem and I was like wtf and he pulls that off, unreal.
