Flames Which prospect has impressed you the most so far in training camp?

For me, it's Adam Ruzicka. Big Power Forward with hands. Can play centre or on the right wing (which is where I think he settles out). Bill Peters in the post game show said he just needs a half-step more quickness in his stride. That's something that can be rectified.

I've liked Pelletier's intensity on the forecheck

Ruzicka has surprised me, I was really low on him before camp but he's been a lot quicker this year and can clearly score

Glenn Gawdin has been great in all three zones and obviously thinks the game very well... reminds me of Ryan

Zagidulin has been tremendous positionally. Very poised. Honestly, I think he could be NHL-ready

On the flip-side... Tuulola, Roman, and Gillies stood out poorly

No one.

Camp has been kinda meh imo.

I suppose i'm spoiled by watching top 10 picks fight for a spot in the pre-season. Those days are over and now we get to watch guys like Ruzicka and Tuulola fight for a spot in the AHL.

I like Zagidulin as well. Whereas Rittich is a higher-strung, ultra-competitive, "wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve" type, Zagidulin is the calm, calculating type. Yet they share a lot in common in coming to NA without a mastery of the language. That they trained together in the offseason is interesting. One of the more intriguing storylines of the off- season.

Not saying it won’t happen but the toughest thing to get better at is your first two strides.

I've been impressed with Glenn Gawdin, the dude looks like he could be a versatile two-way forward who can pot goals if he keeps progressing.

Ruzicka
He is noticable out there, and seems to make the right decisions. Another 2 years, he could be a good one.

Peters wants a speedy, up-tempo team strategy, so yeah, it's up to the kid.

Zagidulin, by a really large margin. He has come in and stolen the show so to speak from his direct competition. Parsons granted has not seen much game time, but he has mopped the floor with Gillies.

Havent been overly impressed with Pelletier other than the fact he has a motor that won't quit. Definitely needs to return to junior.

So.e of the guys that are just turning pro have made positive strides. Namely Ruzicka. He needs a bit more strength and maturoty and I think he's going to be rock solid in the NHL.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see Ruzicka's progression this year. He's shown flashes of NHL-level play, and he's got the size and power; if he's Stockton-bound (and that's likely the case), this will be a big year for him.

Ruzicka has shown me more than I thought. He’s still very raw but he’s a better skater than I thought. It will be interesting to see how he develops in Stockton.

Gawdin reminds me of a young Craig Conroy.

Pelletier should probably go back to junior so he can dominate. As the rosters are filling up with more pros, he’s just getting less and less effective. He’s going to need to develop more physically to play the type of game he wants.

Tuulola skates better than I thought he would but that truculence just isn’t there as advertised. I’m having flashbacks of Niklas Sunblad.

I like Quine from the games I saw him last year and this preseason, he’s seems like a finisher
Dube’s not surprising we all knew he’s good
Ruzickas a nice surprise

I wish there was room for all three of these guys on the team

Not surprising, but Dubé looks ready and should be mentioned more.

Zagidulin might not need much time to adjust. I feel a lot better about our goaltending depth with him.

I think guys on the Zag hype train need to settle down a bit. He's played 30 minutes against a split squad, and a Vancouver one no less.

He looked technically good, and I'm glad they added him to the system, but he's a long ways away from proving he's ready for any NHL time at this point.

Ruzicka, Gawdin and Dube have stood out to me. I expected Dube to have a solid camp, but I’m impressed by the other two. Wouldn’t be surprised if Gawdin sees some NHL action this year as an injury replacement call-up

Alan Quine looks like he will be a serviceable player to rotate into the bottom six.
