VGK are a good team coming off a big win against VAN. This will be a good test for CGY. They've said all the right things so now it's about putting their best performance out there. But really it's just getting back to who they are - what they know they can do.
CGY are an excellent team and it's good to be tested and makes overcoming that much sweeter. CGY has been playing the right way, hard defensively with all the correct details. I have a good feeling about this team.

It think it's close to time where we can start bringing out the "must win" comments. The Flames have lost the division lead and are now staring at the fact the Knights are now shaping up to be their 1st round opponents. Lose this game and that reality becomes clearer and the fact they will have a losing record against the Knights starts painting a bleak end to what has been a pretty great season.

Flames win this I do feel they will certainly have home ice in round 1. Of Vegas wins they could catch and pass the Flames

I think the Flames win 4-3 in a squeaker. They're going to have to battle for it but it'll get them back in the win column and set the table for another dominant run to finish out the season.

Time for Gaudreau, Monahan, and Tkachuck to wake up. Seems like Gaudreau is immune to critique but this is two straight years where he's gone ice cold in March. He was scoring at a 40 plus goal pace and has what 1 goal since the Allstar break? That's unacceptable. All three of these guys best get their confidence back. If they stay cold this team won't do anything.

I have a good feeling that this game will be the one to wake up the top line. I'm expecting a high scoring game by the Flames. A 7-2 score again would be awesome.

They're losing two hours. An hour from the travel East, and an hour from the transition to DST.
Hopefully they're tired.

I'm in the camp that sees the team as having been playing pretty well, just snakebit and suffering bad bounces against.
Keep hustling, firing the puck and just plain ol' givin' er and it'll turn around.
Obviously this game is more important that others given the slide, losing the top spot, and the opponent, not only that they could catch us, but as a potential first round match-up. But a win is a win is a win - to quote Gertrude Stein.
My kid is a massive Golden Knights fan, so we'll have a house divided watching this one!

So here's a question ...
Is Oscar Fantenberg becoming a bigger deadline acquisition than we first expected?
I had the depth chart as the obvious top four, Andersson becoming an every day guy as the 5th, and then Brodie being the swing defender that allows you get get Kylington or Stone in depending on the opposition and how Stone recovers.
Thought Fantenberg and Prout were depth for a fingers crossed long drive.
But through three games the Flames are absolutely killing it when he's on the ice, albeit with some pretty heady zone start stats.
Is he a) the answer for the third pairing this year and b) someone to look at signing?

Can't fit Bennett onto my starting fantasy roster, so expect a big game from him.

Yeah, he really has fit in seamlessly, and offers an aspect of the game that Kylington doesn't in exchange for not offering what OK does.
As for the bolded, I think it's a real possibility if you subscribe to the theory that Brodie and/or Kylington are likely to be moved this summer in an effort o try and solve the G bugaboo the team has been in for years now and alleviate cap pressure.

He has been a pleasant surprise.
I don't like numbering each guy, I prefer to put them in groups. And I would group them like this:
Giordano, Brodie, Hamonic, Hanifin
Andersson
Stone, Kylington, Valimaki, Fantenberg
Prout
Andersson is establishing himself as an automatic top 5 guy. Then you have 4 guys you can seamlessly and comfortably rotate in. And an emergency guy.
