CRVD - Monitor Madness
This monitor is amazing!
43", 2880 x 900 native resolution, aspect ratio 32:10, response time 0.02 ms.
Only $6499 including installation!
If I ever have need for a multimonitor system I will definitely take a look at this first.

Sorry Frank, the image didn't post the first time for me, don't know why. Should be there now. The image is clickable!

It is a link!
EDIT: That thing is awesome. $6500 is a bit out of my price range at the moment, however. :P

The price on these things can't come down fast enough.

This surely has to be the future of monitors.

Well you can just wait until some thin or bezel-less monitors come out and you can run Eyefinity or 3D Surround and get even more screenspace than this. It's also much cheaper. Just 3 regular LCD monitors and a decent videocard is needed. Can be done under $1000 versus $6500.

The curved screen is a great idea but this is just the size of two 19" 16x10 widescreen monitors. Way too small for the price.

if that thing was half the price it would still be ridiculously overpriced. i like the idea, but they need to make that thing about a 10th of the current price to make it feasible

Resolution is crappy, it's really the size of two 1440x900 monitors stuck together. Alienware has a rebrand version of this too.
It's also not as small as you think. It's basically 4 projection TVs projecting onto a curved screen. Really old tech and a huge clunker.
Here's what those stock photos don't show you!!!

Also, I assume it doesn't actually function like dual monitors, and the way the O/S treats dual monitors is a huge part of what makes them effective.
Curved is definitely better than angled flat monitors, but this particular product is pretty much just a novelty.

To be fair a single widescreen is probably better because you can get the window management stuff that does everything and more than dual monitors does via software and it's much better also IMHO at setting up where your multiple windows maximize to and stick to frames, etc. I recommend Winsplit revolution where you can automatically set your windows to jump to any predefined sizes and places via hotkeys.

I think the only practical thing to do with these is buy the proper amount to make a full circle around you.
