He was certainly a cap dump at the time of the trade.

And he would still have significantly less trade value than Lindholm today.

its almost as though it was a joke at the expense of how poorly the trade has gone for Vancouver thus far

Not surprised at all. Lindholm playing with 2 former great players that made him look really good.
And instead of trying to further develop without them around and prove he wasn't profiting off the hard work of others he turns into what he likely was all along....NOT MUCH.

I hope this serves as a lesson to not falling in love with certain guys that can't drive lines, won't show up when It matters ans or even plays hard when games don't matter.

Its about habits. This guy wanting big $$$ and what did you do for us ?
Selfish entitled players .
As much as I dislike Tkachuk now he showed up in big games for the most part .

Johnny and Elias are now both zero impact players for different reasons

My guess is he has told them he doesn't want to sign an extension so now Van would prefer to flip him.

I’d heard on the radio not long after it happened that they were going to wait and see how the EP situation played out. Basically, if EP didn’t sign, they’d signed Lindholm to replace him, but if he did, they might treat him as a rental.

Probably not a huge coincidence that he’s potentially out the door now that EP is signed and Lindholm isn’t looking like the best fit.

Then Boston would have beat Vancouver originally. Not like Lindholm is lighting it up

There was probably a thought that Lindholm was doing poorly here because Calgary sucks.

Now we know it is him who sucks.

what the? lol

Lindholm was always overrated here. He might have been more invisible in the playoffs than Joe Thornton.

$20 says he ends up in Chicago next year. Seems like another Taylor Hall/Nick Foligno situation where he'll take a one year deal to "boost" his numbers alongside Bedard.

At this point he's probably looking at 6x6. I wonder if the Flames would offer him 7x4 or something along those lines? A pretty sizeable dropoff from what they were offering him a month ago.

So Vancouver would have a conditional pick to send us depending on how far they go in the playoffs without even having that player. That would have to be a first time.

Maybe we can help retain on Guentzal and get even more assets from the Lindholm trade.
