The Oilers play these games like its the Playoffs and we sleep through them and I'm sick of it.
Time to get UP!

I’m feeling strangely confident about this one. Markstrom has been been in god mode lately, which bodes well. And the Flames have zero pressure on them right now. They just need to go out, play their asses off and have fun.
All the pressure is on Edmonton IMO, who have been playing like garbage since their ridiculous smoke & mirrors win streak, and as it turns out, they are who we thought they were.
That being said, this is still their Stanley Cup tonight and they’ll definitely be fired up after losing last night. They also will have the refs in their back pocket as per usual, so expect at least 6 or 7 McPPs tonight, especially if the Flames get an early lead.
**edit** Dammit, just saw that Vladar is starting. Oh well.

I think he’s the last goalie to get a win against them ?
Makes sense. We clobbered them last time with him in net.

Vladar starting is the right choice. Even if Markstrom plays really well the Oilers still have the ability to score in bunches. Protect the asset.

Markstrom has been fantastic lately and is their MVP. I’ll never understand sitting your MVP against your biggest rival in a game with meaning.
If Vladar had some unreal history against EDM, maybe. But he doesn’t. Being the last goalie to beat them isn’t reason enough to sit the better goalie in my eyes.

Whether or not it means a trade is imminent or that there is still a strong potential for a trade, there is no reason to go away from Marky if it is not trade or health related.

I am not really in the impatient crowd but if Markstrom is not going to start against the Oilers I sure hope it is because they are on the verge of trading him. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense to sit your MVP against your hated rival.

Attention everyone, apparently Paulie here is claiming he is one of Craig Conroy, Jacob Markstrom, or his agent. Pretty bold pronouncement there, you are going to eat #### on here if you are wrong.

Said MVP, has been in net the last two losses vs EDM. The team will still lose if the players in front don't show up tonight whether he's in the game or not.

And it's not like he's been terrible against them either since the playoffs. Even though some want to think they broke him.
I think he's played three games against them since and all three of those games the Flames didn't look very good. The only goal I would criticize him for is the one that he missed on a dump in that went to McDavid. But that was just as much the defense's fault for giving him space and not covering him. Up until that point he looked fine.

If he has something nagging why would you let him backup? That doesn't sound right...
