My 4 year old got a rude awakening when she ordered iced tea in Mesa last week!

RIP Carl's Jr. I didn't mind it, but the Kelowna location was pretty run down inside and wasn't particularly busy most of the time.

A little over two weeks after the owner of Carl's Jr. closed three restaurants around the Okanagan, a fourth has now closed.
Equipment from the Kelowna store was being removed Thursday.
On Oct. 30, CKE Restaurants Holdings announced it had closed locations in Penticton, Vernon and Kamloops.
A news release stated the Kelowna location, on Harvey Avenue, would remain open.
That changed Thursday.
The Kelowna restaurant opened in the spring of 2011.
It was the first Canadian location for the American fast-food giant.

I will give the Americans this one, their version of ice tea kicks a$$ over the crap we call ice tea.

I had my first Wahlburger this week. It was definitely a good burger. Not great but I'd recommend. Reminds me a little bit of Five Guys although not as good and not as plentiful.

Also a real Aussie burger has bacon and eggs along with the beetroot. Sometimes it will have pineapple.

Shout out to a local restaurant.
http://www.lokalkitchen.ca/
Locattions in Red Deer and Sylvan.
Good burgers. Especially liked their Bulgogi Burger:
Thinly sliced Bulgogi beef pressed into a patty, lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, swiss cheese, whole grain honey mustard, mayo and teriyaki sauce .

Lots of traffic on the weekends in the summer. Really quiet all other times?

Lots of restaurants die in Kelowna. I think people start them in the summer when there are lots of tourists, and when winter and fall hit everything slows down. You really need to attract the locals or else your restaurant is history. Kelowna kills restaurants like the east corner of Memorial and 10th St. In Kensington.
Bragg Creek would be better off with a grocery store than a Carl's Jr.

Anyone recently tried Boardwalk? Just opened up on 32nd in the NE, close to Barlow. Whenever I'm in that area and feeling like a burger, I go to Smashburger. Might try Boardwalk out next time though.

Mediocre at best. A level below Five Guys, Smashburger, and Southside IMO.

Yup. I went there on Boxing Day. In the same price range as Five Guys and Smashburger, but not nearly as good.

Tried Burger's Priest for the first time and it was really, really good. Better than Five Guys and the others, in my opinion. Outstanding burger!

Tried the Boardwalk in Airdrie yesterday. Thought it was awful. Good milkshakes but everything else was pretty poor. Had the Truffle Mushroom burger, which is something I usually love, but the mushrooms were barely cooked and it had way too many of them. The burger itself was really soft, felt like it had been microwaved. Buns were weird, like really dense.
Wife had the Chipotle BBQ burger. Chipotle sauce was alright, the onions and tomatoes were nice big cuts and seemed fresh, but again, the bun and the meat was crap.
I don't like fries but my wife said they tasted about as bland as they could be.
Loved my milkshake though
