It looks like travellers to the US have a new option for burgers at the airport: http://blogs.calgaryherald.com/2012/...me-in-calgary/

It sounds like it's a slightly upscale version of a regular Burger King, with a wider range of toppings available for your burger (but a limited menu due to it being an airport counter and not a full restaurant).

On the airport map, it looks like it replaces the Harvey's that was in the US pre-boarding area on Concourse C. I assume that means it will only be available to passengers traveling to US destinations.

I went to Nainas on Jiri's recommendation last week. It was definitely pretty delicious....not quite the jucy lucy of Minneapolis, but still up there. Friendly service too.

I think I still prefer Rocky's or 5 guys in terms of pure taste though.

just got back from Nainas, and the stuffed burger is indeed delicious. cheddar cheese and jalapenos in a beef coffin is pure bliss. wasn't impressed at all with the bun or fries though, for the overall experience i still prefer Rocky's

I went there today too, but wasn't aware that it was a 40 min wait and that you should call in your order first. After, it still took almost 40 min to get our regular burgers, so I could have had the stuffed burger anyway.

Agree about the fries. They were a bit overdone, I think.

We are going to be on CBC every Tuesday at 4:40 PM reviewing places for the next month.

Our next review will go up Monday: Buchanan's.
After that we'll have our Dairy Lane review up.

Generally on Mondays. We'd like to increase frequency but that would also mean we would be increasing our waist-bands.

I was wondering how they can actually sustain their business selling the stuffed burger at that price if it takes such a long time to produce one, considering how they are customizable and everybody is not likely to order the same one.

CBC wanted us to review a different place in each quadrant. So our next segment (on Tuesday next week) is on Angel's in the NW. I think Buchanan's will be the week after, when we feature the SW.

The joint only seats twenty so unfortunately it is already tough to get into during any sort of peak time.

Yeah that's a good question, but a good problem for them to have.

Clive Burger is opening on 17th Avenue, sounds like they could be opening up within the next week or two.

Smash Burger is opening up 2 locations in Calgary, one on 32nd Avenue NE and one up in Country Hills. The 32nd Avenue spot sounds like they will be havening their sneak preview the first week of May.

When I went there last week, I was the only guy in the whole place (mind you I went at 2pm, so after the lunch hour). They told me the usually wait for a stuffed burger is about 20 minutes, but I had mine in less than 15. They must really be packed this week.

angels......did not have good luck there myself...i hope your is/was better
