Default Your Favorite Podcast(s)

Yesterday someone posted a thread about Adam Carolla's podcast, and a reply there mentioned Kevin Smiths "Smodcast" which I downloaded and laughed my ass off at on my drive home last night.

So it got me thinking what other podcasts I may be missing out on, Since radio in this city blows, I listen to lots of podcast or my own music. But for podcasts I only have a couple I listen to about "wow" but really have not found many others I'm listening to... but smodcast is now on my list.

Any others that are must listen to for the podcast enthusiast?

The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe is a weekly Podcast talkshow discussing the latest news and topics from the world of the paranormal, fringe science, and controversial claims from a scientific point of view. -The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe: Your escape to reality -Produced by the New England Skeptical Society in association with the James Randi Educational Foundation(JREF)

http://radio3.cbc.ca/

An immensely popular weekly one-hour show featuring the best in new Canadian rock, pop, hip-hop, singer-songwriters, alt-country and electronica. If you're looking for a source of amazing new music, look no further.

Every week, host Craig Norris counts down the very best in new Canadian music, according to CBC Radio 3. His producer Pedro Mendes rides shotgun as they chow down on a twisted jungle gym of new music, listener picks, Chartbreakers*, and mixed metaphors. And Love. Always Love.

I don't listen to any podcasts, but I listen to music on my ipod in my car for about an hour per day or more. Yesterday I forgot my ipod and I was screaming at the radio and how horrible it is in this city. I will definitely have to check out some of these podcasts.

Stuff you missed in history class from Howstuffworks.com - Haven't tried it myself but it came highly recommended to me and there are a bunch sitting in the queue on my iPod right now.

I listen to a tonne of podcasts. These are my 3 favs that I think everyone should checkout.

Jordan, Jesse Go!
Jordan, Jesse, Go! is a freewheeling comedy podcast about life in your twenties and everything else. Your hosts are Jesse Thorn, "America's Radio Sweetheart," and Jordan Morris, "Boy Detective."
Jordan and Jesse met in 2000, when Jesse, a sophomore at UC Santa Cruz, was Jordan's resident advisor. They became fast friends, and along with "Big Time" Gene O'Neill, started The Sound of Young America in the winter of that year.
Jordan graduated in 2004, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. Jesse went solo.
In 2007, Jesse moved to Los Angeles, and Jordan, Jesse, Go! was born. The goal was to capture the adventurous spirit of the original Sound of Young America programs, and take advantage of the unparalleled interactivity of the web.
The show has been chosen as "Best of iTunes" and is frequently among the top comedy podcasts in the directory. Past guests have included Rob Corddry, Jonathan Goldstein, Kurt Anderson, Chris Hardwick, Jimmy Pardo and many others.

You Look Nice Today
You Look Nice Today is an audio-based Journal of Emotional Hygiene, staffed by lonelysandwich, scottsimpson, and hotdogsladies.
The three hosts met on Twitter.com, and soon realized that none of them had anything better to do than this. And Twitter.
Nota bene: You Look Nice Today is an audio program that has been prepared by and for “adults.” As a Journal of Emotional Hygiene, our program tackles many of the painful issues typically encountered by persons of this awkward age. Consequently, an uncontrollable level of candor and seemingly non-stop tsunami of profanity may be encountered by listeners. Please do not present this material to non-adults.

The Sound of Young America
The Sound of Young America is a public radio show about things that are awesome. Each week on the show, host Jesse Thorn, "America's Radio Sweetheart," hosts in-depth discussions with personalities from the world of entertainment & the arts. Think of it like Conan O'Brien on public radio, or "Fresh Air," but more fun.
The program is carried on public radio stations around the country, and was the first public radio program west of the Mississippi to podcast. It has received plaudits from publications like Time Magazine (which called it "Pick of the Podcasts") and Salon.com (which wrote "If you've never heard The Sound of Young America, then The Sound of Young America is the greatest radio show you've never heard."). It also was honored by the iTunes editorial staff as a "classic" Best of iTunes selection. Since July of 2007, the show has been distributed by Public Radio International.

I listen to the mainly CBC podcasts. The R3-30, and Radio 3 Podcasts that troutman recommend are really awesome. It's amazing (and a little disheartening) to know that there's a tonne of great Canadian music that just isn't getting airtime anywhere else. Two other indie music ones I download are IndieFeed and KEXP Song of the Day

I also listen to the Vinyl Cafe with Stuart McLean, and The Hour with George Strombalalalalplous

macbreak weekly is a great one for apple fans and podcast beyond is great for ps3 fans. As mentioned, the ricky gervais podcasts are insta-classics. I still remember the time them chatting about the chimpanzee flying a spacecraft made me laugh so hard I nearly drove into a ditch near jasper.

How have they been since they became non-free? I enjoyed them before, mostly for Karl Pilkington and his monkey news and journal entries and such. I haven't come across a podcast, CP Radio included, that I enjoy enough to pay for though.

Smodcast, You Look Nice Today, Adam Corolla Show.

I had listened to The Ricky Gervais Show, but didn't really get into it. Especially since it stopped being free.

Anyone without iTunes that can get Bill Maher to work? The podcast links to HBO's website arent working for me, I'm thinking that it's a non-US thing?
