I was lurking the forum for quite a while before I decided to join and add my 2 cents. I thought that a lot of threads and posters commented on things which could have been talking directly about me, and of course I wasn't around to respond.
So, I picked the most famous character in movies that I felt fit the situation. About three people got the reference over the years.
I've felt like the dweeb explaining a stupid nerd principle, in a Simpsons sketch, for the last few years; rolling around with this handle. Which fits right in on CP.

After getting banned on my first and 'everywhere else/usual' username, I decided that I wasn't done with the community, and was going to clean up my act.
I chose a rare animal that I like and relate to, different from any other user name I had ever chosen, to indicate the difference in how I was going to behave here 'this time around'.
Seems to have worked.
Me too.
I decided when I joined a second time to be "undercover" and I am a bother, as in I have a sister.

Mine stems from a nickname, which is a bit difficult to explain without all the background. So, I'm gonna go with this one:
NSFW!

Mine was inspired by a story in the early 2000's. There were numerous reports coming out of New Delhi of a monkey like man attacking people, he was later dubbed the monkey man.
These reports led to numerous innocent people being mobbed and beaten due to mistaken identity, by gangs of people who believed these people were the monkey man. The case of the monkey man was later attributed to mass hysteria.
I thought the story was fitting an internet message board.

Mine is from the Nirvana song Sliver. Kurt Cobain liked that name because he thought it'd be funny when people screwed it up and thought the word was Silver. People still call me Silver on here sometimes so I guess he was right.

We had a goofy goalie the two years I played Atom level hockey that kept making up nicknames for everyone on the team. I think Yamer came from a variation of my first name. It stuck, and since it was simple, short, and easy I adopted it for most of my online activity starting in the late 90s.
It's pronounced yay-mer.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Learning a lot....I just thought it was a clever/funny name for testicle.

My username used to just be my full name, until I got interrogated by the Flames about my post history in a job interview... so I asked the mods to change it to my initials.
Funny enough, as a result of that change I now have a large number of friends that exclusively call me AC in real life. It's weird in retrospect because it's not a nickname I ever went by previously. It just stuck with CPers I met in real life playing ball hockey and spread from there.
Didn't you also have a different name at one point that wasn't connected to your real name. CrazyJoe or something?
I’m a big Pearl Jam fan and Bad Radio was Eddie Vedder’s first band before moving to Seattle to form PJ. Also radio sucks. (My avatar is the poster from their last Calgary show)
