I know Jessica Sevick's mom. That's pretty disappointing.

Too bad for Sevick and Smith, still proud of them though.

For anyone not familiar with Jessica Sevick’s story. she’s had an incredible road to reach this point:

Quote:
Jessica Sevick's family was told she might not make it.

The 12-year-old from Strathmore, Alta., had just suffered a severe brain injury during a luge training run at Calgary's Olympic Park.

Doctors didn't know whether or not Sevick would survive the traumatic collision on one of the icy course's final turns. If she pulled through, there was a chance Sevick was facing a serious disability.

21 years old, 6 career Olympic medals, Canada's most decorated Summer Olympian, and still countless medals to come for her over the years.

One more medal and she'll be Canada's most decorated Olympian EVER.

PENNY. OLEKSIAK.

Penny's just a beast, especially in her last laps of races. I had zero doubt she wasn't going to let that other swimmer battling with her down to the stretch catch her.

The 100m Freestyle has yet to come, which is her specialty event.

Scheduled to race her heat at 4:16am tonight/tomorrow morning
