Flames Monahan (sick) out against Canes. Bennett to center top line

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
now
Sean Monahan is out for #Flames. Sam Bennett will fill-in for him on the top line with Johnny Gaudreau and Micheal Ferland. #CGYvsCAR

Hrivik also to make Flames debut.

News Update

Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
now
Sounds like Monahan's issue is not serious (an update is coming "later"). Lines will likely look like this:
Gaudreau-Bennett-Ferland
Tkachuk-Backlund-Brouwer
Mangiapane-Jankowski-Hathaway
Lazar-Stajan-Hrivik

Strange. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

I don’t know if I agree with putting Bennett on the top line. He has had obvious struggles at centre in the past. Hope he proves me wrong and lights it up.

Well this is unexpected news.

Interesting. That's mildly concerning, but good for Gulutzan to reward Bennett after his hard work to turn his season around

While I’m obviously not happy to see Monahan out ...I’m excited to see what Bennett can do!

Why not put Jankowski between Johnny and Ferly.

Looking forward to what Eat Bread can do on the third line and how Hrivik looks.
