Poirier is hard to guess, stats say he's playing better than the past two years, but far behind his first couple of seasons. Maybe the Flames keep him around another year to help him turn his career around.

Shinkaruk looks like a guy that has hit his ceiling in the AHL.
Hope he's not done and can be a bit of late blooming, full time NHL'er.

He's the last of the long legacy of Flames that started with Kent Nilsson being drafted in 1976. It'd be very cool if that can continue on.

hopefully Lomberg or Hrivik can force the Flames hand in scratching Stajan.. I understand with the winning streak and all but the flames need to start cycling Stajan out of the lineup to see what they actually are capable of without him there.

At this point, he's going to have to score a Stanley Cup winning goal to extend that legacy as he isn't going to be a star.

That left wing depth is getting filled up with Mangiapane with his foot in the door for that 3rd line spot behind Johnny and Chucky.

Well yeah, to the level of a Nilsson, Iginla, Nieuw.

I'd be content if he became full time at least. Who knows what a trade involving him down the road could lead to.

i remeber the rumour where Feaster offered all 3 firsts for Av's first but was turned down. I was all for it but many posters didn't like the proposal. Av's made the right call.

Hard to say in my opinion.
Monahan vs. MacKinnon on its own is debatable.

I love Monny, but would trade him every day of the week for Mackinnon.

Monhan for me over MacKinnon. He's ahead in alomst every comparable metric. If I am not mistaken, Monahan still leads the points race in that draft class and I think a couple other draft classes too.

As for Lomberg, I have him pencilled in for the #4 C on opening night next season. So I hope to see him play some games this year. The guys a machine.

Fair. I’m homerish to our guys, and like Mony’s consistency over MacKinnon’s flash.

I love Monahan, but I would trade him for MacKinnon in a heartbeat. I would even add a bit.

MacKinnon's speed, and ability to enter the zone, would make Johnny even more dangerous.

Ya, I always trot out this stat because I love it:

Monahan has more points and goals than anyone drafted in 2013 (his draft year) and 2012.

In 2011, only Kucherov (+7) and Landeskog (+6) have more goals, while only Landeskog, Nugent-Hopkins, Kucherov and Sheifele have more points. They were all drafted 2 years earlier.
(Johnny is now only 3 back of Mony for career points.)

Adding 2010, only Seguin (+82), Skinner (+66), Hall (+39) and Tarasenko (+36) have more goals, while only Seguin, Hall, Skinner, Tarasenko and Johansen have more points. They were all drafted 3 years earlier.

I really like Monahan.

I thought Klimmer was the one guy remaining in Stockton that deserves a look but Lomberg is deserving as well. His playing style will be a welcome addition.

I wonder where the organization stands with Klimchuk? We have a plethora of left handed wingers and at least Lomberg adds some intangibles..
