Starting to sound more and more like Miller wanted to try and turn Deadpool 2 into a launch pad for his career. He wanted to deviate away from what made the first one so successful (a focus on Deadpool) towards a cgi heavy, visual effect extravaganza.

I think through the first movie Reynolds has earned the right to run this show so I have total faith in his decision to stand up for the character.

The way I've seen it put that makes the most sense to me is this: The final movie did not deviate much from the initial script we saw back in 2011/2012 which means that Miller did a good job of bringing the script to life, but it was the writing that made this movie. Not the direction. A bigger worry would be if Reese and Wernick left the production.
Still, Miller seemed to be on board with what this character was about. So I am eagre to hear something more official that caused this split.

Yeah, I thought since he left that it couldn't be a bad thing if it meant he was having creative differences with Reynolds. The guy obviously absolutely loves this character, it would be really strange for him to want to be steering it in the wrong direction.
Depends on who replaces too. Would someone from comedy come to it? Maybe Reynolds would end up doing it himself (half kidding).
He's usually a family-friendly guy, but I'd like to see what Brad Bird would do with something like this. He's got an eye for self-referential things.

I have the utmost confidence in Reynolds and his team helming this franchise.
There is a petition out there to get Quentin Tarantino to direct the sequel.

In initial sequel talks, Reynolds, Reese and Wernick envisioned a “scrappy,” raunchy and inexpensive movie, the insider said — in the vein of the first, which earned over $780 million worldwide on a $58 million budget. It’s a stunning return on a film Reynolds lobbied 11 years to make.
Miller, known more for his visual flair than for the brash antics that Reynolds and his writers embraced and that fans loved, wanted a more stylish take, one that would compete with mega-budget superhero movies, insiders said. But it would have cost three times as much as the original $58 million film, the first individual said.
“There were two totally different movies on the table, and one of them just wasn’t ‘Deadpool,” said the first insider, who is familiar with both concepts.
Reynolds, Reese and Wernick’s vision won.

So pretty much what was rumoured.
Glad Miller got the boot/left then. Deadpool should be more Netflix Marvel than Movie Marvel

Yeah, that actually sounds like a good move.
When in doubt: Stick with your Principles.
Bigger Budget =/= Better Movie

I think that would be a terrible mistake. Tarantino has his uses, but his films are his films, when you're watching a Tarantino movie its all about Tarantino.
This movie should be about the character. Deadpool fans love the character and thats where the focus should be.

It does make me wonder what a Tarantino superhero movie would look like.

I'd rather see Tarantino end up with a comic book movie like The Boys than Deadpool.

I'm not sure... I mean, Kill Bill worked out okay, and that was fairly ridiculous. I just can't think of a superhero that would work for it.

David Leitch (yes, I though it said Lynch at first too), who directed John Wick, is the reported front runner to replace Miller - along with a couple rookies.
Also apprently it was Miller who wanted Kyle Chandler as Cable, I thought it was Reynolds. I think he would make a great Cable.
