A guy the other day mistook my Orient Mako as a Submariner.
He was actually wearing a Sub, and by golly they actually look pretty similar at first glance.
Consider the Orient $300 USD or so

I did the opposite. I was drunk and asked if a Rolex Submariner was a Seiko skx007. I made a new friend because he was impressed I even noticed the watch (and my scotch hobby), but by golly am I still embarrassed for messing that one up. Guy is pretty much late 20s, rich as hell but very humble. You wouldn't even know he's rich just by looking at him.
That same friend was pretty intrigued by my Skx009 though (pepsi diver). I was on the fence about grabbing a SKX007 or Cocktail time next, but I think an Orient might be a target now.

I just got the black one! Its beautiful, I'm amazed you could get a watch of this quality at such a low price point. Seems like it should cost way more.

I'm nothing but happy with my black Mako. I was doing a lot of research before I bought, and I agree with you that it's a steal. Such a quality (and handsome) mechanical watch.
It was mistaken for a Sub by a guy wearing a Sub! That's saying something.
This is the watch (large image) :

Finally got my hands on...uh, wrist in...one of these:
Bremont ALT1-C in Anthtracite.
I have a black strap with red stitching on mine, in addition to the 'regular' black with white stitching. I also have a nylon (NATO) strap. More info on watch HERE

Anyone know of a place in Calgary to get the Orient Mako Dive Watch or the Orient Mako Ray (Blue if possible)?
If not, I could ship from USA to Montana and pick up but am having a hard time finding any that are in stock and not from a second hand dealer?
Thanks,

I nabbed mine off amazon.ca only took a few weeks. Even if you choose a 3rd party dealer, Amazon's A to Z guarantee will protect you.
I nabbed the Orient Mako 75001 (instead of the one Cro has which is a 6500X I think, because I don't like the numbers)
WOW, just realized the orients are at prices higher than the Seiko SKX. What happened?
Oh, and I tested the Alberta watch and I have to say, it is a good value watch.

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with Panerai repair? Looks like the mainspring on my PAM112 is broken and I suppose I'll just need to send it back to the authorized service centre, just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice prior to doing so.
Thanks in advance.

Don't have a pic of it on my wrist.
Legendary movement. Watch for watch people. Most don't recognize it. But those that do, do.
