Long story short, I have an authentic jersey from the 80s signed by a couple guys, but the issue is I didnt get it cleaned before the signatures. What has everyone done to clean some minor stains from signed jerseys?

Don't ask me why I know this but this is an easy one.
Basically, hi-test steam from a boiler or high end dry cleaner will kill bacteria and most notable smell or odor. So I really nice solid steam while avoiding the signed patches. This is usually like 100 Psi steam that hits the magic bacterial killing temp.
Secondly, having a pro-fabric person treat oil based or food based stains on an individual basis. Which may mean submerging certain areas manually into a sink without submerging the signed area. I.e. hand treat stains. Treating stain specific items such as mustard.
In most or all cases Jersey's should not really be washed or dry cleaned that are used by fans as the mechanical tumbling in the washer and the heat cause more damage then treating the root causes of cleaning as mentioned above especially with name plates and patch plates.
