Flames are as good on the road as at home, not too concerned. And they have been far from their best. If they bring something closer to it, chances are still very much in the flames favor.

They didn't match the avs effort level. And effort levels the playing field when you have less firepower.

They had to learn a lesson here. Smith got them confident and complacent. You will never cruise to a playoff victory, and for 50+ minutes they played as if they would.

Bring more of what you showed in OT and things will work out.

Avs were the hungrier team all game. Hopefully the Flames learn something from this.

it's pretty funny that the flames led or were tied when they were horrible, but as soon as they started playing well the avs scored

MacKinnon is friggin awesome. Man, what a player.

Flames were pretty bad for the most part, then started playing better and lost.

Need to win 1 of 2 in Colorado now. They can be much, much better.

I think this game showed that you can give MacKinnon all the zone time, but you can't let him behind you on the rush.

Problem is they probably could for 1 series.

100%. Better to learn this lesson now. They just didn't put in the same effort as the Avalanche all night long. The Avs wanted it more.

What a weak effort by Calgary for most of the game. They better pick it up or they will lose this series.

No drug testing in playoffs.

Actually, no that doesn’t even explain it. He’s clearly been replaced with an android.

Really, this isn't a great outcome for Colorado. Not only did they over play their only line all game, they had to over play them in overtime too.

That will breakdown for them over a 7 game series.

Best part of this... no more 8:30 starts, which is freakin' ridiculous

That better be a huge wakeup call. If not for Smith that would have been an ugly loss.

Frolik needs to score on that opportunity. You don’t miss chances like that in OT and get away with it. Dammit!

Johnny should have passed to Mony in OT there instead of shot. He was wide open. A few nerves there maybe. He usually makes that pass for sure.

There is no way Mackinnon can keep this up the whole series.

I'm pretty sure he is blood doping in the bathroom stall right now.

Flames were outplayed, simple as that. Disappointed in Backs on the backcheck. However when the best player between the two teams is on his game, you have to contain him. He is just an amazing player and made for playoff hockey as well, Mackinnon

I don't think our top line can match that these days. Maybe first half the of the year, but Lindholm is a shadow of his former self. Monahan's really good, but mostly a finisher.

I just don't see our top line, current state, being able to match MacKinnon and co, they are ridiculous.
