I can't do it. Anytime I try to grow a beard it gets too itchy and I end off shaving it off.

I grew my first beard in the 2004 run in my mid-20's. I have been a bearded man ever since. I think I shaved it clean once in the last 15 years, so I'm not about to do that now.

However, I will trim it down close to the skin so that it's virtually shaved for my normal beard length. It's the best I can do.

Oh, and for those of you that don't know: Use beard oil. You can thank me later. Kiehl's is my favorite.

Yep, I’ll be growing one. A nice disgusting neck beard to boot. Started a few days ago to coincide with my beer league playoffs. Will be keeping it for the Flames run as well.

The only time I grew a beard I went wild. A few years there I looked like Burns with his scraggly beard, unkempt and huge. People thought I was homeless.

So the wife isn’t letting be do that again....

Part yeti here so it’s basically clean shaven or insane growth as options.

No. Clean shave between end of regular season and first game of the playoffs.

It takes me forever to grow a beard. I have it, I'm not starting over.

We'll just pretend it grew in overnight.

The last time I had a beard was during and after the 2004 playoffs. My wife made me shave it off, as she said she felt like she was having an affair.

The day the Flames lift the cup will be the day I shave my beard. I love my beard and I will grow it again

Yep. I had a beard for 2 years at various lengths and have done a full shave and will stop shaving on Thursday. Is cleaning up of the neck allowed? or should I go full on? (I suspect I know what the answer will be).

Luckily for me I am a professional face grower so I'll be full beard after the first round.

2004 was the first time I tried to grow a beard. To my surprise - it came in rather well! But to quote an earlier poster, the mustache part of the beard came in like that of a 7 year old girl.

I really haven't went > 1 week without shaving ever since. For some reason I don't think I started one for the magical Hartley Flames' season?

But here we go. Started yesterday. Go Flames Go!

I currently have a full beard. Should I:
A) Let it grow
B) Shave a Playoff Moustache a la Bennett

stopped shaving on Sunday. I'm going for the whole hideous grey next beard while keeping my head shaved. I'm thinking convict look from a bad 90's comedy.

Working from home has its benefits.

Already a month's worth of growth in because beards are life, but I'll keep 'er going as long as we're going.

I would if I could but it's futile as I have patches and now that grey hairs are sprinkled with the black hairs it looks even more sparse.

Quit shaving while in Maui because sunburnt shaving sucks. Going with CC's plan of shaved head and salt and pepper for the playoffs. Not sure if I can stand the neck beard though.

Does beard oil help with itch?
