There will be a whole lot of nasty (as Pierre McGuire likes to say) coming up in the Leafs-Islanders game. Check the February 28 OOT out for what was going on in that game. The Islanders can sweep the season series tonight and show that the Komarov-Tavares trade worked out well for the Islanders.

The Avalanche-Blues game has Colorado trying to keep their playoff spot safe and the Blues chasing first place in the Central Division.

The Jets try to remain in first place in the Central Division with the Blackhawks in a do or die situation. Chicago hopes the Blues win in regulation time.

From yesterday's OOT, it is well said so it deserves to be posted here.

The one thing that's taken something to get used to.

For the last couple of weeks, except for the Sharks, there's really been no meaningful games on the OOT for the Flames, and now with a week left, there are no meaningful games at all.

I mean I guess the break is nice, but a big part of the fun of following a sport is how the OOT effects your team.

Default April 1 with seven games.

If the Knights beat the McNoGoods, will that finally freaking eliminate them from playoff contention?

I'm dreaming of seeing the Habs catch the Leafs or at least have it come down to the last game to give the cocky Leafs fans a scare. Really unlikely unfortunately.

Too bad the Habs couldn't beat the Leafs this season. Flip that 0-2-2 record around and they are in the playoff spot.

Man the Leafs have gone unbelievably South in the last quarter of their season. After the last of season and early season hype where they would get a 10 minute panel discussion on TSN and Sportsnet after every game, to the now delicious panel discussions where the talking heads have panic in their voices.

I mean its great that it was bring your kid to work day and they accidentally hired a grade 9er as their GM and he proceeded to load up his front lines while leaving a putrid defense in place. But now the Leafs are facing their worst nightmare, an opening round against a very good and nasty Bruins team. It would almost be worthwhile for them to dump their way to the first wildcard spot and face the Caps.

I mean I look at the teams in that conference, with Tampa, Boston, the Caps, and even the Islanders as teams that would wreck the Leafs jam their boots up Babcocks tuckus and kick him to the unemployment line.

There is something rotten in Leafsville.

Yes. The Oilers unmagic number is 1 (point). On top of that, they must not go to a shootout, as they need to have a ROW in every game.

It is hilarious they are still technically not eliminated. It is like the hockey gods are playing an April Fools joke.

To make the playoffs the Oilers need to win their last 4 all in regulation or OT, including beating Colorado, except that game can't go to OT, then Colorado must lose their other 3 games all in regulation. Then even if that happens the Oilers would still need Arizona to lose all 3 of their games in regulation. Oh and if those very unlikely scenarios did happen then the Oilers would need Minny to pick up less than 4 points in 3 remaining games and Chicago to win less than 3 of their remaining 4 games. Good luck!!!

And this is their season to "go all out" before all the big contracts kick in...they can't even bring this team back

I don’t understand why they didn’t go (somewhat close) to a Columbus level of pushing all their chips in. It’s clear that this was the year they had the most favourable contract situations. They can’t even really keep all of their forwards for next year, never mind patching up the defense.

Would an Oilers shootout win be too much to ask?

Even though they win, they still lose!

They did kind of go all in though, just not at the deadline, signing Tavares and trading their 1st+ for Muzzin. Even then they are a deeply flawed team going nowhere in the Atlantic division.

The Leafs are going to be in the playoffs for the foreseeable future but will need to be on the winning end of a big forward for defence trade if they want to be more than just a pretender.

I didn't know Toronto still haven't clinched yet, it would be awesomely funny that they got knocked out in the last game of the season.
