But, I will watch the game, cheer on this group of current underachievers and thank the hockey gods that both SJ and VGK are struggling even more so than our beloved Calgary Flames.

4-2 Ducks....Prove me wrong boys! I would be glad to eat crow.
Dude. it is Friday. The sun is shining and the patios will be open on the Ave for lunch. Turn that frown upside down!

It has been difficult to get a clear read on how coaches are handling the goalies the past couple weeks. This could show a “win-and-you’re-in” rotation, or it could be Smith drawing the weaker opponent once again. I still think all the remaining starts have been decided according to the latter, but who knows?

I refuse to believe this org is dumb enough to think Smith should start round one just because he plays alright against the Kings, Ducks, Canucks, Senators

Who they put against San Jose on the road should show their hand as to who they think the playoffs starter is.

Only playoff team they have put Smith in against lately is Winnipeg and that was a back to back situation. Before that it was two games against the Islanders. In that time Rittich has played Vegas x2, Toronto, Columbus, Dallas. Lately when they are playing a decent team they seem to lean towards Rittich.

Why does Rittich seem to start against the better opponents more frequently then? Not convinced that is the plan at all. Especially if Rittich is back in net against the Sharks this weekend.

I see it this way.
Round 1 vs Arizona? Smith
Round 1 vs Colorado? Rittich
Round 1 vs Minnesota? No clue

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Sam Bennett won’t play tonight. Coach Peters says he’ll play on the road, either Sunday or Monday. #Flames

Just my opinion. You have two guys who are playing well. the vet has better numbers in the last quarter of the season (albeit against weaker teams lately), is the much better puck handler, and has previous playoff experience. tie goes to the vet.

Neal-Jankowski-Czarnik
Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway

Giordano-Andersson
Hanifin-Hamonic
Brodie-Prout

Smith
I adore Peters. Makes the most of what he has. Very responsive to player streaks and makes sensible moves.

I don’t quite understand what he’s doing with the goalies but he’s got them both playing well going into playoffs, and neither is getting overworked. So although Ibdont understand the process, I respect the results.

It could go either way. I just don't think that Smith starting the first game of the playoffs is set in stone.

Unfortunately I don't work downtown any longer and there aren't too many patios around where I work but I'm not sad, happy its Friday and a beautiful day!

But still, them Flames be leaving me wanting more out of them lately.

They need a solid 60 minutes from everyone...just hoping it happens sooner rather than later.

I hear that. Mony needs to turn his game around or we are in some trouble. Hope it starts tonight.

If this game was at the Honda Center, It would probably be an automatic loss. Thankfully that's not the cast tonight.

I'm gonna say 4-1 Flames with the 1st line finally breaking out.

I want an ugly, stupid, embarrassing lop-sided win. Time to start getting into the Ducks' heads while having players regain some offensive confidence out there.

14-1 for the Flames.

Should be an interesting game, Ducks are the same type of team as Kings and Stars

Can the Flames generate any offense with an heavy style of team that will trap.

Because I'm working tonight and can't go to the game, 5-2 Flames.

I am guessing peters is keeping monahan on the top line to see if he can get out of the slump with having extended minutes but if the regular season were to end with the same type of play from him, you have to think he will not be on the top line come playoffs right?

I honestly thought a couple weeks ago goaltending was the biggest concern with playoffs but now it’s definitely the top line. If they can’t contribute goal(s) each game the rest of the way what’s the solution?

Sportselect Info
Flames win = 1.45
Overtime = 4.3
Ducks win = 3.9
Over 5.5 = 1.5
Under 5.5 = 1.95

Wonder if Getzlaf gets back into the lineup for the Ducks. Here's hoping he takes one more game off in a season that means nothing for Anaheim. I think this is another one where the Flames play down to their opponent as they are likely looking towards the game in San Jose this weekend. However, I think the bad puck luck from the last few games evens out and they can sneak by with a 3-2 win. GFG!
