Well that hurts. Really though it would be nice to know when you are ignored by posters as I've probably replied to some of his posts before and it seems like kind of a waste to spend time respond to people that have you on ignore.

I find myself admiring Estrada's ability to slither out of that one.

Quite the read. Underage girl. Manipulation. Tantrums. Lots of quotes from his ex-wife Mandy Moore. He sounds like a huge creep with lots of issues.

Several women say Adams offered to jumpstart their music careers, then pursued them sexually and in some cases retaliated when they spurned him. He denies the claims.

I'm pretty gutted by this. He's one of my favourite singer/songwriters. I have great respect for Mandy and Phoebe and the others for coming forward.

Here's his response:

My favourite Ryan Adams moment was when he went crazy at a show when someone asked for a Bryan Adams song. Apparently it happened to him all the time.

It looks like he changed later on and started actually covering Bryan Adams willingly.

I'm not really familiar with him or his career, but the article makes him seem like he's a mess mentally and emotionally. His denials don't seem credible, but his actions seem, from my very limited vantage point, consistent with somebody who has mental health issues too. A mess of a person to be involved with.

Never heard of the guy until today. If you put a loaded gun to my head and told me to name one of his songs I'd be a dead man. But Mandy Moore was sooo hot back in the day when I was in high school.

I had a co-worker tell me she was going to a Ryan Adams show a few years ago and I kept mistakenly correcting her that it was “Bryan Adams”.

Ugh. Well this is incredibly disappointing, as I'm a huge fan of his songwriting and I own pretty much everything he's ever released. Tough to separate the music from the person when you hear about this kind of stuff.

I'm a fan of his music, but I can't say I'm surprised. It's been known that Adams was an addict and a 'difficult' character right from the outset of his career. The music industry attracts a toxic mix of narcissistic, self-destructive, and ruthlessly ambitious personality types. The sorts of people whose worst traits are only amplified when they find success.

I used to hang out with Duran Duran's bodyguard back in my clubbing days in London in the late 70's when they were at their height, ex marine and hard as nails, I asked him if he'd take a bullet for them and his response was it was far more likely he'd be the one capping the spoilt little ****s

Hungry like a Wolf came out in 1983. I remember flying to Singapore on Japan Airlines and they had a loop of 15 songs for their onboard entertainment. I pretty much heard it 150 times before we landed. That and Mickey, Video killed the Radio Star and Pass the Dutchie on the Left Hand Side.

That's why I said off by a decade; give or take. It was dependent on what afc considered to be late 70s and what would be considered the height of Duran Duran's popularity. Personally, I don't think they reached their height of popularity until 1986.

86 was when they started to decline in popularity. Their height was probably like 82-84.

This discussion on Duran Duran's popularity era is becoming an epidemic.

The FBI is investigating Adams' alleged communications with underage girls.
