I saw the Bronx 2 or 3 times in the past year! Unbelievable live show!
Their set at Broken City during sled Island was unreal!

I agree very sick live show from those guys!!

Also not sure if he will be singing for them. But the band bullet treatment mad a recent album with Matt from the Bronx singing... More of a hardcore sound but apparently they are playing the distillery on New Years... If you go to bullet treatments myspace page you can hear some songs, however not all of them have Matt singing. As far as I know he will be singing for them on new years, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet..

Here is some info on bullet treatment and their album.

PS. Are you a fan of Gallows? Pretty much my favorite band of the past couple years.
Yeah the gallows are a great band.

Off with their heads are not really in the same style or category as bands like the bronx or the gallows, so you may not like them as much. A little more goofy and fun without the intensity.

Propagandhi though, man.. Fantastic band, every album is a little different but so soo good...

As in my previous post if you like the gallows, and bands with a little harder edge you may like bullet treatment with the bronx singer. Already dead and pointless conversation are both with him singing on their myspace page..

Also current listening to

The Sainte Catherines - Ring of Fire = 4 points. One of my favourite albums, dancing for decadance.. Awesome Canadian band!

Always good shows in Calgary on New Years! Last year it was the Dwarves at the Distillery on new years!
I don't know if my girlfriend will be stoked to go see these guys on New Years though

These guys kind of remind me of Cloak/Dagger, or maybe even Bones Brigade or Government Warning

Yeah the last 3 new years have been awesome for me.

Death by Stereo at the Castle
Guttermouth at the Underground
The Dwarves at the Distillery.

This year we can't really decide between bullet treatment and knucklehead at Dickens pub.

Luckily for me my gf loves punk, probably more than I do lol. She wanted to go to knucklehead but has decided she likes Bullet treatment since I got the cd. We are starting to feel a little old at these shows now days!

On that note

A bit of a change up, I am currently listening to

The Old Crow Medicine Show - Tell it to me...

Old Crow is very fine stuff.

I'm going through the Nick Cave discography pretty much on repeat these days. Expanding that to Grinderman, as well.

You should expand to his first band, The Boys Next Door!
Best material Nick Cave ever released imo

It's true that he hasn't released any poor material in his entire career. I still think the Bad Seeds are his best incarnation though.

They're a lot more polished...
I think I have such an affinity for the Boys Next Door because I love power pop.
He's got such a diverse range of music within his discography, something for everyone!

Local band called The Evidence. This isn't one of those "support a local band" type of posts, I don't know these guys but have heard a couple of their songs on x929.

It's a good song, but for some reason it's just makes me laugh seeing a drummer doing lead vocals.

An bit of an oldie, but the awesomeness of this song is timeless... I wish the old Muse came back.
