Does it matter if I do not use any Telus products at the moment? Can you still get the info you require from my number?

Hope someone can help me out here and see whether the GPON issues that Telus have been experiencing the past couple of weeks have been fixed yet.

My Telus Optik appointment to set up my Internet, TV, and Phone was cancelled last week (from what I am reading on the forums it looks like I am not the only one.....) Apparently they were having major issues with the newer GPON areas (I am up in the NW). They were hoping to get it fixed as soon as possible. Anyway, I was hoping someone will have some inside-track as to what is the status of this is as of this week, or whether anyone has successfully installed Optik this week at GPON areas. Also curious as to what timeframe am I looking at for this to be resolved. The Telus rep said it could be 2+ weeks before this issue is resolved.... but I want to get this set up asap as I have been waiting for a month+ already.... Thanks!

So I talked to a Telus CSR yesterday and got my install all setup for Sunday. I was pretty stoked to finally make the leap to Optik TV as I've heard from alot of my friends, and people in this thread that its a much more superior service compared to Shaw.

As I'm walking to my car yesterday after work the CSR I was dealing with calls me and tells me that I can't get the Optik service to my house because there aren't any free ports in my area. WTF? Why wouldn't TELUS plan for this and make sure there is enough ports to match the demand. They are probably losing out on a lot of new clients because of this.

Is there anything I can do? Any TELUS employees on here have any suggestions for me or am I hooped?

Scoop are you in new brighton? This happened to me 3 different times. Real frustrating because I got a smoking deal for the set up. See my stories in the shaw vs telus thread

So my dad finally got internet/tv hooked up. The PVR UI is so much better than Shaw's. Still waiting to get his home number ported, so hopefully that gets sorted out tomorrow morning. He gets 3HD 1SD feed as well. It's pretty cool.

I got mixed news today. One person told me was a fixed issue, but I couldn't verify it

I guess Telus isn't interested in my business...they never called back like they said they would. Ah well, I'm in no rush.

Pause live TV from the non-PVR boxes.
Previous channel can now do up to 5 channels - (I don't have any details on how this works yet)

So I guess I'm eligible for 2HD and 1SD at the moment. I'll probably wait cause I'm so used to having 3HD streams with Shaw. I'll look back into this when our area gets upgraded.
