I did see in one of the articles (I can't remember which one) that they would be opening it in phases starting at 9, and it should be fully open by noon.

Are there any of our CP infrastructure nerds waiting at the barriers? I am trying to justify a trip on it in the next few days.

I'll have you know those wetlands have been turned into Lake Country.

Drove by on Hwy 8 at 9:30 looking forward to going northbound (for one exit). Kept driving unsatisfied.

There were a lot of people doing uturns at the river.

Took it from 16 ave & Stoney to the south campus hospital at about10:30. Saved about 10 mins from my normal drive. North side was still closed but a few trucks at the baracades looking like they were opening soon. Appeared clear all the way up. Saw a few semis turning off too that were probably disappointed I bet. Hopefully the north side opens for my drive home soon.

I took the northbound home from the South Campus to by C.O.P and went as planned. Was about half hour both directions. I am sure some will shave time off of that the way some went flying by my measly 105 kmph.

I did this 10 years ago, timed it perfectly and was the first car to ever go over the WB-SB flyover at Stoney/Deerfoot SE. That was cool.

“Cool” might be a little over the top, no matter how much you like infrastructure projects.

Well, one kid graduated...university and the other is in first year. Unfortunately, retirement is off the table for a while.

Waze should be updated within a few hours, as they have a map editing community, and the tiles get refreshed once per day. So it shouldn't be long.

I seem to recall that Google only took a few days when the last leg opened, but I could be mistaken.

Either way, it will be much better than waiting for the quarterly map update for my old Garmin GPS back in the day. Or was it semi-annually? And after letting the map update for hours via USB, the revision I was hoping for wasn't even on there yet.

Ya, Google is pretty quick at updates, I'm sure by the weekend it will be done.
