Reminds me of those classic blockbusters that we don't get any more, but with modern visuals. #### yeah.

Looks great. A high budget movie where they actually have a crap about the story and acting. And the tone looks consistent. You mean we don't need main characters making quips every other minute to make this entertaining?

Yes, I know it's based on a preexisting plot, but there are a lot of ways to mess up an adaptation when your are compressing entire books into two hour movies. Flashpoint was based on a preexisting plot too.

More classic sci fi films please.

I knew nothing about Dune going into the first movie. Watched it after it made its way on to a streaming service randomly one night. I was blown away. Felt like Game of Thrones in space.

Second one looks great.

Dune is such a hard series to adapt too. Look at the first adaptation - its bad.

They knocked the part one out of the park

Yeah, that looks amazing. For some reason my wife is really into slow, cerebral sci-fi movies so we did a theatre date to Part 1 and both really liked it, but also both agreed it needed a Part 2 to really fill it out as it obviously just kind of ends in the middle of the story. Can't wait for this!

They lost me at Joaquin. He's too old and too... Joaquin. He doesn't seem like a good fit but I hope I'm wrong.

They lost me on the British accents.

None of you professional, award winning actors, can try French?

Having all the actors speaking English in French accents is a bit silly. The historical figures weren't actually speaking like that, they were speaking French (or various other local languages). So they should speak French, with subtitles, or just go with English, as they have.

Well actually, Napoleon spoke Corsican as his mother language, and was known for speaking French with a very thick accent. So I guess it would be more accurate to have Napoleon speak in either French or English with a thick Italian-ish accent. Let's just stick with English.

I mean just use a French accent.

or have them just speak with their regular accents if you don't care. Having them be specifically putting on British accents just seems weird considering they are fighting the British....Will the Russian soldiers all be sporting British accents as well?

People do stories in English with location proper accents all the time. Nothing wrong with that. Joaqiun Phoenix can't try on a French accent?

Never count out Joaquin. I don't like half the movies he's in, but he's got a ton of range.

Speaking with an affected French accent would be silly.

Speaking with affected English accent is…?

It might be fine? Maybe? I'm just not all that interested in a Willy Wonka Prequel?

On the surface and in the trailer there doesnt look to be anything bad about it, I just...dont care?
