No need to exaggerate here. The former 30 goal scorer was a cap dump with negative value who the flames took to upgrade the prospect and make the cap work.

Everything Bingo said is true. And hard to call him a cap dump when he's been better than Lindholm

Yeah I get that.

Was trying to be funny (have fun)

No exaggeration at all. That is in fact what we received. And I love it.

Well he was having a pretty bad season at the time of the trade. I kind of thought there would be a player or two he could find some chemistry with in Vancouver but it seems like for whatever reason he's picked this season to be his worst.

It’s so weird if true. If it’s for the purpose of getting assets to use on Guentzel instead, don’t they need to trade with a team that has a first round pick?

the issue has most so been the 3st line is missing Joshus on it, he with blueger and Garland have been a monster 3rd line

I think the plan was to load up the top 6 with lindholm either with petey or miller, he hasnt been bad but he hasnt had immediate chemistry, very deferral especially when playing with petey

Guentzel is a better fit for that, if they could do this without a huge markup it's a win

I'd rather get toffoli and keep lindholm, with Myers out a few weeks, and they can hold him to playoffs if needed, the cap isnt an issue

I guess Lindholm was a rental.

Depends what pitt wants

They start trading for 1sts, at what point do they realize crosby should probably be moved

I can see them pushing for more young but ready players to try and extend Crosby's window, basically what benning kept doing in Vancouver...

Maybe they can get Poitras and/or Lohrei for Lindholm. Then flip that for Guentzel.

Pens have been clear they don't want picks, they want prospects. So that's someth8ng the Canucks have depth of still.

Sulking about on your contract year....

Thank God we traded him.

Could you imagine paying him what he wants and getting this?

Possibly. But who would that be from Boston that they would be willing to give up that fits that description and they don’t need? Their problem is they need those type of players too because they are an older team as well.

See this is what's weird to me...why spend all those assets on Lindholm who was the only really C on the market...to then play him on the wing or shift one of your current centers (who are having unreal seasons) to the wing.

Honestly seems weird to me still, overall it's a soft crop of forwards, but I can't help but think that the assets the Canucks traded could have gotten them a winger with term on an okay contract, instead of spending the premium on a Center.

Like if you wanted a winger to drive play or who was more responsible than Kuzmenko then even on the Flames someone like Coleman should have been the target.

I feel like Boston would be a great spot for Elias.
there is quite a bit a shame if the Canucks already want to move him
guy has been a disaster all year in a contract year after scoffing at an 8x8 from the Flames

I'd be more interested to see what the Canucks do get from the Bruins...

I'd actually not be shocked if it was something like Debrusk + 2nd (maybe a 1st)

I'd be very surprised if it was any of Poitras, Lohrei, or Lysell considering the rumors were they didn't want to move them for Lindholm back when he was on the market.
