NHL.com: Top 32 Draft Prospects for June 2024
Looks like my two first round targets have moved up...
Quote:
9. Carter Yakemchuk, D, Calgary (WHL): Now in his third season in the league, the 18-year-old is positionally sound, knows where to go to make himself available, has an advantageous reach and is good in battles along the boards. Yakemchuk (6-3, 190) leads WHL defensemen with 26 goals and is tied for fourth with 60 points in 56 games.
10. Tij Iginla, C, Kelowna (WHL): The 17-year-old son of Hockey Hall of Fame forward Jarome Iginla is a dynamic offensive talent with speed, quickness, and natural instincts you can't teach. Iginla (6-0, 186) is tied for seventh in the WHL with 40 goals in 54 games.

If flames pick 15th and the 10th pick is coming up with Tij still on the board, what do you give up to get him?

Minny is the current cut off I think for Flames. If they trade Hanifin and Markstrom there's a chance they could drop and be in top 10.
3 points separate picking 8th or 15th

Vancouver pick (if it's 25th or later) + 15th for 10th + 43rd

I don't even want to wait that long. I can see a team taking him higher than 10th. I'd even put Coronato on the table to get Iginla.

Has it at 40.716 for 10 + 43 vs 39.392 for 15 + 25
So pretty close value but slightly slanted to the Flames

It's crazy that the Flames jumped down 6 spots in the draft order over the past couple of weeks, meanwhile Tij has been climbing. At one point, it was like, could the Flames justify taking Tij if the pick was a little off the board. Now we are thinking about trading up to get him.

Wolf for a top 10 pick? I’d seriously consider it…

What if Ottawa comes to Conroy with the 5th overall pick for the Canucks 1st and Wolf? I think if Lindstrom is there Conroy says yes

Of course he says yes - no matter who is available.

Unfortunately the best player to ever play for the Flames is a complete beauty. Iginla's children would never pull a stunt like that. They'll play for whoever drafts them... and probably bust their asses off.

Just my opinion but I certainly wouldn't take Silayev 4th or Buium 5th overall either.

True, but that list would support my contention that Eiserman and Parekh will drop, and Buium and Yakemchuk will be risers.

The list was made by a staff writer out of New Jersey, I doubt he compiled it from info of the 32 team scouts, Eiserman may drop but highly unlikely from the top 10 IMO, defenseman are funny to gauge where they'll go, especially with this many of them.
