You have to give to get. Their system already has an embarrassment of riches. Don't know why Mercer is so untouchable to them.
Then why is he a deal breaker for the flames?

If he is not dealt, hopefully he stays hot for rest of the year so they can deal him at the draft

The Devils are done plugging in random 1B options. They will deal with it in the offseason and do so by backing up a truck of assets. Will there be an available goalie that they'd rather pay for? Brodeur loves Markstrom. Is there anyone who carries more away in that org than him when it comes to goaltending?

Another unfavorable OOT. I have a feeling we'll finally get things going our way next week. Just have to hope the Flames keep winning in the process.

Gap in the East and West from WC2 and '9th place and below' pretty wide.

For the Devils, it's a wasted season.

For the Flames, they simply re-open things in the summer. Markstrom's comment is irrelevant to all this.

Most important position on the team and Devil's don't make the simple trade. As if Mercer leaving is going to tank their future.
Is Mercer a McDavid to them?

I think Conroy has botched this badly, significantly less return in the offseason.

The Coyotes have the Capitalsvnuber this season. Arizona wins 5-2! That deflates the Capitals
playoffs hopes a bit.

One of Swayman/Ulmark will be available and they are younger than Markstrom for likely the same return.

There is no reason for the Devils to overpay for an aging Markstrom.

Sharks broadcast giving a nice salute to former Shark goalie legend Miikka Kiprusoff in their intermission and showed part of the retirement ceremony.

Oilers with another game against a non-playoff team with their backup in net, and of course they’re up 2-0. Their butter-soft schedule strikes again.

You understand that the Oilers have their backup in net and had a longer travel day, right?

Or does that disrupt your false narrative?

Asking for a friend. . .

DeSmith is in net for the Canucks as they play hang on with the 2-1 lead. Less than five minutes left in regulation time.

They also finished the game at 4:30 yesterday so easily traveled and slept in their own beds. Or does that disrupt your narrative?

To be fair. The Oilers played an afternoon game and were finished 6 hours before the Penguins were. So unless the flight from Seattle is 6 hours longer than the flight from Edmonton, any tired "advantage" would still be there.

It is pretty humourous how the Oilers have now played 5 back to backs on the season. 2 of them at home, 2 of them in the same road city, and now 1 that is like a day and a half of rest. Narrative or not that is a hell of lucky break. Something they're all too familiar with up there.

I don't have a narrative. Teams play back to back all the time.

The senseless refrain that the Oilers have a 'soft' schedule because they are the NHLs darlings is getting tired.
