I suggested that and was eaten alive....... and then was again destroyed for suggesting AZ might want a 1st or Holloway/Broberg since they would have leverage.

Do rentals ever return that type of package?

The laughable offers from the Oilers like Puljujarvi, Barrie and a pick won’t work but I am not sure a 2019, 2020, 2023, and 2024 1st for one season of a player makes sense either

For them to retain 50% if would have to be a haul, that's the leverage.

Oh, it'll make sense to their fans. Didn't they say they were barely beaten by the Avs, and they would've beaten the Bolts if they have gotten pass the Avs? They are thinking they are one Patrick Kane away from wining it all and 2023 1st would be a 32nd pick and they are going to resign P Kane because after wining it with McDrai, P Kane will be just in awe and wants to resign right away to win more, so the 2024 1st would be just another 32nd pick.

I just don’t see why Patrick Kane would waive for the Oilers when teams like the Rangers will also be interested?

I don't either, but Oilers fans, you know.

Let's look at it in reverse...

Would we do Valimaki and Lucic and a 1st for Kane? Obviously, we wouldn't be able to sign fast enough. That means the price is way off.

Would you do Coronato, Wolf, Lucic and a 1st for Kane 50% retained and him agreeing to a 3x$5 extension? As painful as that price sounds, I think most would say yes after thinking about it, which means that is at least in the ballpark of the price.

100% agree to that deal if he signs that extension, he could do better than that though. Guessing he could sign a 3-4 yr deal at $8MM per year

Probably.

But the point was that the return should be 3 primary assets, not 2 dumps and a late 1st

They’re getting both. As soon as they convince someone else to go on LTIR and someone else to retire.

100% correct, and let’s be honest….. it’s irrelevant because he isn’t waiving to go to Edmonton. Waive to go to Tampa, or NYR, or even Colorado. But no chance he agrees to play in Edmonton

Last season Kadri played 28 seconds per game on the PK. Most of his career by a significant margin.

He averaged 4 seconds on the PK in the playoffs.

Kadri isn't a PKer.

This stuff is pretty easy to verify.

So you watched all of his games with a stopwatch and a log? Or you just looked that up?

Why would P. Kane sign that kind of extension. He had 92 points last year. He's either looking for a $8 x 3 type of contract or a retirement contract at 6-7 years.

Must have been Draisaitl. He's always pissy.

Just refer to the fan fiction script they drew up...

(Jesus christ do they just sit on their hands and wait for the hockey season in the summer up there?)

This is where you're wrong - It'll be an early first.

The Eskimos Elks are 3-7 so far and haven't won a home game, so yeah, pretty much. There are really only four things to do in Edmonton in August:

1. Dream of the glory days of their hockey team.
2. Dream of the glory days of their football team.
3. Swat mosquitoes.
4. Play ‘Name That Smell’.
