Preacher season1 was great, don't know what happened but after that it seemed like a different show. A bad show.

That scene was quite hilarious as I felt the lead in to what the dolphin was asking for made it even funnier, lol. The actor who plays The Deep does such a great job acting one way in the beginning but then by the end of the season I actually felt sorry for him even though I knew I probably shouldn't.

I'm super inappropriate so I laughed the hardest at the scene with the landlord, even with everything leading up to it I didn't think they'd go there but they did and I just lost it, lol. I haven't laughed that hard since the ending to 21 Jump Street when he shot the guys thingy off, Lmao!

I liked the Breaking bad reference in there. Stopped and rewound that part. Also the lobster scene made me laugh

Just watched the first episode. Really liking it so far. Reminding me more of the Umbrella Academy than Preacher though. Nastier tone than the Umbrella Academy though.

Quite liked season 2 and 3. Halfway into season 4 though, and something definitely seems off. The characters are acting derivative and even the cinematography seems very odd.

Looked into it a little more and the creator of the Preacher comics was the same guy who created the Boys comics, Garth Ennis.

Back on topic just finished the Boys. Really loved this show. Very entertaining overall.

The two are very different from each other in plot and direction. They share character names and the general concept (superheros are bad and must be monitored), and that's about it. The tv show takes a pretty quick left turn from the comics, and keeps on going. Reading one is not LIKELY to spoil the other, given the very different changes in overall direction
I recently read the comics and there's only 1 thing you find out that could end up being a major spoiler in the show.

The comics are basically an excuse for the writer to wipe his ass with the DC and Marvel comic universes, with only thinly veiled recreations of the most popular characters. It's a lot of fun and a really well structured story, pretty much everything done in the 72 comic series comes together for the climax.

They are as brutally violent of a comic series as I've ever read, equally gory and unsettling as the Walking Dead series.

Yup. It'd be huge, too.

Garth Ennis is a legend. I haven’t read the Boys but he’s done so much good stuff. Preacher, Punisher, Punisher Max, Hellblazer...the list goes on.

I'm late to the party but I just started using my Prime Video a few days ago.

What a show. Just great all around. I wasn't sure about the main protagonist initially, but he grew on me for sure. It's interesting to see this sort of perspective from "the villains". And also the idea behind the celebrity of the superheroes. That's probably exactly how it would go if they were a real thing.

Nice to see some real consequences of things like laser eyes (people ripped in half), super speed (people blown to bits), etc.

Very cool. Loved it. For some reason I thought there were 2 seasons out already, so was disappointed when I reached the end.

Great show! thanks for the recommendation...I would have never watched this since I'm not huge into the popular super hero stuff

One of my best friends kept going on about how great this show was. Last time we were together I was telling him about Watchmen and he was going on about The Boys.

Yesterday I started to binge The Boys. I enjoyed it. Do I think it's the best ever? No. But it's entertaining and while I wouldn't say the characters have a lot of depth, they are morally grey. Which is something I like.

My biggest annoyance, and I had to rewind to watch the scene again, and it just annoys me to the point that it literally drags the whole show down despite the fact it's a throw away moment and has nothing to do with the plot.

Spoiler!

Like I said, has nothing do with anything but annoys the hell of out me.

I don’t remember that exact moment but you can cook dead lobster. I guess it depends on how soon after he planned on eating it. My understanding is you have an hour or so.

Yeah they’d never do that at the market without asking. But it was just kind of a throwaway gag really.

I think for many it is considered inhumane to cook them alive. But still often those who want fresh will wait until right before cook to kill them, Usually by electric shock or nail through the head.
