Heritage Pointe just sent out an 'important update' stating they are closed for the season.

Got the dreaded email from Nanton: Golf course closed due to snow until further notice.

At least there is still hope. Unlike Sam Bennett.

There's always Heatherglen, guys! "Due to it being December and nothing but snowfall until January we regret to inform you that we will only be offering the Creek and Hills nines going forward".

Heatherglen either forgot or meant to not take their flags out, which means they didn't lay tarps on the greens. Is this normal during a heavy snowfall like this?

Any Bearspaw members want to chime in regarding what you are being told the next 5-10 years will look like regarding the clubhouse assessments? I have been told (by the club) to budget 700-1000 per year for the next 5-10 years. Accurate?

Once complete, Bearspaw will have a new clubhouse, new shortcake area, and full grass range with real golf balls. Have to admit... the practise facilities are a big draw for me.
Its a terrific course. Worked there for 5 years and was a junior member about 10 years ago. Its one of those courses that you never really get tired of playing...I learned to play the game there so it will always be very high on my list. 16-17-18 is an amazing 3 hole finish.

Ultimately you cant go wrong either way you go. Silver Springs and Bearspaw are both excellent tracks.

I've heard about their clubhouse (Bearspaw) apparently they are going with a super modern design. Kinda sad in my opinion. I think its just nostalgia for me but I liked the old school country club feel. When I was there they still had a lot of original members that bought in early. A really good mix of every demographic - middle class to very wealthy...

I imagine with cash calls and all of that this is all but dead now.

Serenity is still open. I played it on Saturday. They will close for the snow days but plan to be open again. They really didn’t get anything from that big storm last week.

Some double digit weather coming up. I hope it doesn't change. Fingers crossed for my course.

I heard the same thing. Blue Devil, Serenity and Speargrass didn't get much snow and still good to go.

The Nanton golf course has decided to stay open for next week to recover some lost revenue from the crappy fall we've had.

They are also offering 50% off green fees for that week.

HeatherGlen is.
Springbank on Sunday.

Golfed speargrass today. It was certainly one of the funnest rounds I’ve had this year. The wind was so strong that on the par 3 11, I used my 4 iron to tee off a 114yrd pin and landed it 20 ft past the hole. My buddy tried his 5 iron and his 3 wood and landed 10-20 yard short!
