It was a great season in my opinion. Horrible way for it to end no doubt but winning the division and winning a round were great steps for a team many thought was on the bubble at best.
It will be interesting to see what direction they take moving forward.

It was great season all things considered. I definitely didn’t expect the regular season they had and to have two 100 point players and three 40 goal scorers. Losing to the Oilers always sucks but at least they were able to win a round which means a lot considering the team’s history with first round exits. Regardless of what happens this off-season, I’m gonna stick beside this team. GFG!

I did enjoy this season, sad it ended losing to the Oilers, I really didn't want to play them in the playoffs. Still happy they beat the Stars in OT game 7, that's a great memory.

I started watching year 1 with this team and I'm still cheering.
Yeah, after the regular season I wondered what the playoffs would bring with this group and they did well. Learning to win, playing with pace, learning to check and being consistent are all things this team is learning to do.
I appreciate greatly what Darryl is trying to do and it's a breath of fresh air.
Changing the culture of this team is something desperately needed so we're heading in the proper direction.
Now with our AHL squad moving here we will really get to see this team improve especially if the heat win the Calder Cup .
Gonna be an interesting off season of re tooling.

It was a fun season, but disappointing. My expectation was to win two rounds, and they only won one.
The goal call just ruined the feeling of well-fought competition and it felt like we were robbed.

Too soon.
I still want everyone fired, traded or sent to Siberia.

One of the best seasons in the club's history since it came to Calgary. Historic seasons from the top line and from Markstrom. An incredible regular season. I'm thankful I got to witness it.

Dissapointing ending. But a great season. Got past the first round.
Remember at the start of the year, everyone had the Oilers winning the Pacific and the Flames struggling to get to a wildcard spot.
While this off season will probably tough and gut wrenching for those of you that are heavily invested in the Flames, there's hope for the future on the farm, and there's good young players on this team.

They took a big step and I had a blast watching the regular season. Lots of learning opportunities for the team thanks Flames.

it was a thoroughly enjoyable season until this series. It's an obvious kick in the nuts and it'll take some time to digest this one, but it was still a big step forward and the most fun I've had in a season since forever. Onwards and upwards!

Flames brought some great entertainment value this season.
It was great to see Sutter hockey again.
6th overall and made the final 8 in the playoffs.
And let's not forget the baby Flames
2nd overall and still playing.
Have a great summer everyone and stay safe.

Well said OP, agree it was the best season since the 04 run.
I'm more disappointed for the players this year vs disappointed in the players.
This was/is a very good hockey team.

Take away losing the 2nd round to the oilers ( i know its hard) but:
-First time we won a round 1 series as a favorite since 89
-First time we won a playoff home OT game 7 since 89
-First Series win since 2015
-First BOA since 1991 ( Yes, i know the result stinks) But lets say we lost to Dallas, we would always wonder how we would have done vs the oilers.. at least we have closure
-Best/most exciting Regular season in over 30 years
Still a LOT better than last year.. in so many ways & a lot of bad streaks. I was very embarrassed that we hadn't won a first round series as a favorite in over 30 years, that's gone now.

I've been a fan since 1992. In that span the team has yielded 5 playoff series wins (not including the Winnipeg play in series).
Gaudreau scoring a game 7 OT winner against Dallas gave me a good memory for years to come.

At the beginning of the season if I knew they'd get to the 2nd round of the playoffs I would have been thrilled. Add in winning the division, the individual performances, etc and yes it was a great season. Just really sucks losing to the Oilers of all teams.

Highs and lows of being a sports fan
Fun regular season, disappointed in the results of the playoffs. Just need that consistency and next level in the playoffs
Onto the next season!

This.
It stings to lose to the Oilers in the fashion we did. The team, goaltending, and NHL head office all didn't have their best performance.
But that doesn't overwrite what was a good season overall. Sometimes in a playoff series you just don't get the breaks. The Flames lost three games that were tied with 10 minutes left in the third, they had goals disallowed in the final 10 minutes of two of those games.
Overall though for the organization this was a very successful season.
6th overall in the regular season. Final 8 of the NHL playoffs.
Johnny, Tkachuk, Lindholm, and Markstrom all had great individual seasons.
Farm team finished first in their division, second in the league, and are on a roll to start the playoffs so far having not lost in the playoffs yet.
Pelletier and Wolf both had amazing AHL rookie seasons. Phillips, Gawdin, Mackey, and others continue to show growth at the AHL level.
