This came up and they said something about the parking lot being booked for something else. Sounds like it has to go through the stampede and they couldn't get it for the away games.

I assume they've crunched the numbers and not having 20k fans at the dome hitting up the Red Lot before the game probably means its not viable.
I'm sure if there is enough interest (and money to be made) they'd do it.
Weather is also still a little dicey... a long summer playoff run could really change the interest in the Red Lot.

50 people or 5000 you have fixed costs, you still need security, setup, people to man the bar and food area.
They’ve gotten 2800 max so far and are prepared for 5000.
And from the game Thursday, the masses piling out of there were 18-21 and smashed. Any older and no one has the patience anymore to stand up and drink for 3h.
Look at Torontos, they maybe had a few more then that, but not a ton considering the size of the city. It’s an option, not the only option and one most probably wouldn’t choose first.

The Flames could give out free food and drinks and pay people $5 to be there and the CSEC would be blamed for being cheap for not having steak as a food choice, no kosher option, no herbal tea as an option, and not giving people $10 instead….usually with some snarky reference to what Murray Edwards’ companies are worth.

If the Flames move on I told my 13 year old (long suffering Flames fan) son I’d take him down from Red Deer on a weekend. Can’t afford tickets (2 daughters finishing up college). It’s all about the memories and experiences man.
