Terrible coaching by Howard in the last minute of the Michigan game. Worthless 2 point attempts when Nova wasn't missing free throws and taking too much time. Oh well good run

That game was a reminder that the "College basketball is better than the NBA" argument is really about the drama of college basketball is more entertaining than the drama of the NBA. Cause the quality of the basketball? Yeah. That was a painful game to watch, as are a lot of March Madness games. Not even that dramatic.
Be interesting to see where Gonzaga goes from here. Kinda feels like this is the end of them as a true top level program, they'll still be a strong mid-major but I don't see them being taken seriously as a top 5 team again until they actually win it.

Those are some weird takes. I'm not much of a Gonzaga fan, but they've made every sweet sixteen since 2015 and the NC game twice. Who beats that tournament record over the last decade? It's weird they keep staying in the same conference which is not even really a mid major, but they hold their own against the big teams in the pre-conference games and NCAA tourney.

I guess this is more of what I'm saying. They've had a great run the last 7 years, but it feels like their window for winning a title is closed now. They will still be a perennial tournament team, but the days of living inside the top 10 are probably over. They might be losing their top four scorers from this team, and as we saw this tournament the drop off from those top four was pretty steep. I just see them reverting more to the early 2000s-2010 version, still good, but not elite.

I've never understood the scheduling for these Sweet 16 games...why just a 20 minute offset? There is deadtime overlap at halftime.
Would it kill them to give game 1 a 630pm EST start time?

Clutch, clutch free throw shooting from St. Peter's to close it out.

The committee really gave Kansas the easiest draw in the history of the planet.

The other #1 seeds had easy paths too, they just lost to weak teams.

This is some of Jay Wright’s best coaching I’ve ever seen.
Might be the best coach in College Basketball?
Nova’s performance at the FT line all season continues to take them far. That Moore injury was ugly.

What a run for NC late in the first half. 16-0 to open up a huge lead.
