Default What are your Superbowl snack habits

Big game tomorrow, and its nice to see a true Cinderella story in it, though I don't think this game is going to be decided on a last minute field goal, or pick six.

What's your menu for tomorrow? I like to keep my Super bowl simple. I make a pot of chilli, deep fry some really hot chicken wings, and buy a case of beer.

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb good sausage or lean ground pork
  • 215 oz. cans hot chili beans, undrained
  • 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2large onions chopped
  • 1bell pepper chopped
  • 3 clovegarlic minced (may use in jar)
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp red pepper, crushed
  • 3 Tbspwine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp cumin

  • grated cheddar cheese

  • sour cream
Brown beef and pork in a large pot.
Drain and stir in undrained beans, tomatoes, onions, pepper, garlic, chili powder, sugar, red pepper, vinegar and cumin.
Add some water if you like more juice in your chili. (The only liquid is in beans and tomatoes).
Cover and simmer for about 1 hour. Stir frequently to keep from sticking and burning. When ready to serve top with cheese and sour cream.
The red pepper flakes and chili powder makes it spicy.

I usually do chili for Grey Cup.

Superbowl is all about appetizers and junk food. Wings, chips, nachos, cheese & cracker tray, shrimp ring, honey roasted peanuts.

With the Chiefs in the last two it was cigarettes and whiskey.

Today I'll be able to eat solid food and not be a nervous mess.

smoked chicken wings and pork belly burnt ends.

Didn't make either this year though. No party to attend, and No Frills and Superstore were both out of wings.
