Interesting topic:
Flames just lost their best player for nothing and Treliving only has one year left on his deal.
So...do you announce an extension for him after the biggest managerial failure in almost 30 years? Or do you let a lame duck GM start the season?

Honestly, I'll answer this genuinely.
I was all aboard the 'Fire Treliving' train a while ago because I didnt feel he was the guy who would put this team over the top.
Thats not to say he's a bad GM, he built a pretty good and well balanced team.
If we're going to rebuild this team? I'd prefer to keep him. Building a solid foundation is his strength as a GM. Moving that foundation to the next level is his weakness.
If we're serious about rebuilding? I'd say keep him. The damage is done now, might as well roll with it.

Certainly nothing bad can come from having a GM desperate to save his job making the moves.

Honestly, I would be okay with Futa or Lombardi.
Or pluck away an assistant GM from Carolina, Colorado, Tampa... teams that have built really great cores. Hopefully not the AGM from a loser team like Arizona again.
