It will be nice if Gillies and Parsons can push each other to be better.

Tonight's Heat game against SJ is on Sportsnet 960 right now. Heat get a boost getting Lomberg, Hrivik, and Mangiapane back during the bye week for the Flames.

It is unclear if Lomberg, Hrivik, or Mangiapane will be called up after this game. Conroy said they might look at others on the Heat.

scratches: Carroll, Pollock, Glass, Findlay, Yevenko, Ollas Mattson, Robak

for folks who follow the Heat, has Klimchuk done enough to warrant a call-up? Any others (Foo, Shinkaruk, Poirier, other)?

Conroy specifically mentioned that Klimchuk and Shinkaruk have been playing well recently.

2-0 Mangiapane with 2 goals including an empty netter.

Lomberg credited with assists on both goals

Heat win 2-0

Gillies with back to back shutouts. 32 saves tonight. He is in the zone.

He leads the AHL in shutouts with 4 this season. He has 7 career shutouts and ties the record for most by a Stockton Heat goaltender (held by Rittich).

Gillies is rounding into form as the franchise's Starter-In-Waiting. Parsons up in the "A" as an understudy is also good for the franchise.

(Not to take anything away from David Rittich, who's clearly been a revelation and one never to under-estimate).

Really great to see Mangipane get a few. Will really help with his confidence when he gets back up with the Flames. Also it makes it pretty hard for the Flames to keep him down in the A. I really like what I have seen so far in his time with the Flames, he has not looked out of place at all.

Tough night for Jon Gillies vs. Ontario Reign. 5-1 early in the third, and he's just been pulled in favour of Parsons.

Back to back losses for Gillies. He just can’t seem to find any consistency.

Heat do a goalie swap.

Send Parsons down to KC. Call up McDonald.

Move designed to get Parsons more playing time IMO, as it looks like he hasn't earned Huska's trust yet.
