Here is a highlight package of Gawdin made by the WHL. It looks like he has a hell of a release.
Hmmm. Can we get his line mate Heiponeimi?

Valimaki with 1G and 1A in a 8-4 loss to Everett. He was even on the night.
Also should be mentioned Tri City outshot Everett 33-28 and it wasn't score effect late shots. TC outshot them in each of the first 2 periods and tied in shots in the 3rd.

Swift Current dropped back to back games both by a score of 5-1 to Lethbridge. Looks like Gawdin missed both games? If that's the case clearly they missed him.
In the article Valimaki hints that he is aiming on playing with the Flames next year, saying he wants to be a leader next year in Calgary. I like that and I think he could make a big splash next year. One of the more underrated prospects but he’s got all the tools.

It's nice to hear from him and he said similar things last off-season as well. Even if the Flames trade a defenseman I don't see Valimaki playing more than a handful of games in the NHL next season. A full season in the AHL would be very beneficial for him. Kylington should be a lot more NHL ready at this point. Andersson will take the 3rd pairing RH D spot if Stone is traded.

I think because Valimaki is able to play in Stockton you might be right, but if he has a very good camp and looks good in pre-season he could make it a tough decision. He’s a very refined player already which is why I wouldn’t rule out him making the team. Lots depends on the offseason moves that will be made this summer.
