Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2022 - Round 18
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Snort, niko won by a single vote. But that's cool. Never seen such a tight race on a vote before.

Duehr has a chance to make the team this year in the mold of Hathaway or Jooris. He has wheels, he is defensively responsible, big and physical. Perfect Sutter player.
I thought he would have a bigger impact in the AHL last year based on his camp, but some players are thrive on the bigger stage.

Boltmann for no other reason than he was a Jim Cummins selection

I am in on Boltmann as well. It is difficult to track defensive defensemen by counting stats. I've heard good things about the Notredame program, and he was getting regular minutes at 19.
Likewise, I don't see myself voting for anymore players over 20 remaining on the list.

Pettersen for the fourth (fifth?) straight round. Looks like he might actually have a chance this go around.
Probably going to switch to high floors for the next couple of picks in Ben Jones and Walker Duehr.

YES - very odd lack of love for a guy who's done something vs guys who flamed out in the AHL.

Goalies take time to develop (even Mr. Wolf). Sergeev has a lot of the desirable attributes you want to see in a netminding prospect.
How he does at the NCAA level will be interesting. He'll be at the same school Kuznetsov came out of (UConn).
I can see him turn pro early, seeing as there's no one else in the pipeline (save Chechelev who has yet to secure an ELC after two seasons).

I'm on team chaos, from this point on, I'm voting for whoever has the 2nd most votes in order to increase the chances of a run off being needed.

I don't think anyone drafted in 2019 and before is worth a vote. It should be a who's who of the bottom of the rankings.

Sergeev really should be much higher on this list. He was the best goalie in the USHL by a huge margin.

I completely agree. Dominant in that league.
Prior USHL goalies of the year have made it to NHL. Alex Stalock and Dan Ellis as notable examples of such. Although a small minority.

Very sparse for goalies, but the USHL gets stronger and stronger every year, and more and more NHLers are coming out of there.
