Mary Kay Letourneau death
One of the more bizarre stories and a major trial at its time. Mary Kay a teacher and her 12 year old student were found in her van having sex and it lead to Mary Kay being charged and sentenced to 7 1/2 years in jail. She ended up Marrying the student and having two daughters with her before separating after 20 years.
She was 58

It was a different world back then. I remember the debate over the affair and the double standard over it. A lot of people wanted her to be freed because it was love and it was a female in the position of authority (Every guys fantasy and all that). Meanwhile the Male having an affair with a young girl was looked upon with disgust and a throw the book at him mentality.

Wow.
Yeah I know a guy in his late 40s who started having sex with his 19 year old babysitter when he was 12. When he was a teen he looked at it in the stereotypical way, as some kind of fortunate experience. As he got older he realized it was actually quite damaging. He refuses to get help.
I’m sure that experience is not the cause of all of his misfortunes with women and life, but the fact that he still remembers it so clearly and dwells on it as a negative thing says something.

I don't know this guy, but it seems reasonable that a sexual assault would have a long lingering affect on an individual

Being exposed to sex at such a young age has to have long-term effects on your perception of sex and relationships, especially coming from someone you think you know and trust.
