I turned on Danielle Smith on the radio today and if anyone is looking for a reason for the spread of the virus look no further. The Libertarian approach to a pandemic that she and her listeners/callers has is terrifying. The thing is that many of the people who called in sounded like they were older and the exact population that should be staying away from crowds. Someone even bragged about how they were looking forward to having 8 friends over to her house, because she had the right to do so. I couldn't believe what I was listening to and yet she being the host didn't do anything to calm down the frenzied masses of "muh rights" people, instead she made mention about how awful mask bylaws were and how they negatively impacted, something, and something about tyranny and dependence on government.

How this loon has a voice of reason on a major public broadcaster is beyond me.

I’d like to see the question asked repeatedly at any of these press conferences until we actually get an answer. Perhaps Tyler can go work on that if there is no plan. I’m not entirely sure if that is his directive though or another groups or how that would work (AHS reaching out to local law enforcement? I have no idea).

Think about how China controlled the virus. I’m not quite there but we do need way stricter enforcement otherwise literally what is the point of making “rules”? If I tell my kids to do something and there is no reward or punishment they’ll probably just ignore me. Same thing here.
The reason shandro wouldn't answer the question and lost his cool like a 10 year old is because he knows it was his government that pushed for a lack of enforcement of the rules hinshaw wanted to enact.

It was a brazen lie dressed up as outrage.

With any luck a great deal of them will catch COVID and die.

Went over to Glamorgan Bakery early AM today, and its closed. Sign says they are taking a week to figure this new protocols out.

Anyways, what I got a kick out of was the steady stream of elderly drive bys and head shakes when they saw it was closed.

Kenney is gonna get an earful, right after the Danielle Smith call in hour.

She needs to be off the air during any pandemics. Giving a daytime voice to the fringe element isn’t helpful.

The data shows that must of the non-conformist crowd is 20-35, they are the ones spreading it. I am not going to get excited about the odd oldie winding people up. Apparently these “pop-up bars” are popping up all over the place, somehow I find it hard to believe that granny is hanging out in one of those.

Well, since you asked. I feel like these people - the anti maskers who are intent on spreading a deadly virus to flout their disregard for public health, science and social responsibility - represent a danger to myself and my family unlike anything we’ve ever seen on this large of a scale. It truly is unheard of in modern society.

I like my family and don’t want them to die and my options for hope, as to what can be done about these dangerous people, is quite limited. Obviously mask, hygiene and social distancing being enforced would be my preference. So would some sort of magical combination of education and sudden development of an understanding of social contract.

Since I’m quite sure these people have neither the intelligence nor the desire to develop either of the above, my only hope is that their dangerous, life threatening actions will not kill any of my family members, either directly thru infection or indirectly due to a lack of available health care.

This raises a great deal of anger and resentment in me because the idea that people can be this uncaring, irresponsible and callous is hard for someone like me to fathom. In turn, I tend to respond in a very raw and emotional manner.

As such, I feel like their idiotic and dangerous decisions may catch up to them and solve this problem created for me and my love ones all on its own. Mainly because their actions will cause them to contract covid and die.

So yeah, with any luck, they will get covid and die.

Some people in this thread need to take a break from the internet.

Do you only do passive aggressive or can you actually be direct and say something?

Which people are you talking about? You? Me? Danielle Smith?

Pretty obviously you, for wishing death upon others, which honestly is pretty weird sentiment.

I don’t really walk around “hoping” for death for anyone but maybe I’m just a softy.

If they aren’t allowed to come over to your house, pretty sure they shouldn’t be in the smaller confines of your car.

She’s really hit all the high notes through this. At the outset she was on the “it’s the flu” bandwagon I think. Then she moved right into the “hydroxychloroquine for everyone” mode. I know there was a point where she had a guest claiming that this was man-made and China released it on purpose.

I don’t want to be harsh but can’t people apply common sense to these situations. if we don’t want rules applied against everything we gotta start to be able to make sensible decisions about whether something is appropriate or not.

Yeah we've been subscribing to the one house hold per car rule for skiing.

Come to think of it maybe that's why Lot 4 was backed up past row 10 at Louise last Sunday just after 9am.

Strap'em to the roof of the car. That's the only way.

Yes, absolutely. The risk has gone away.
