Agent, NHL unable to contact Mike Ribeiro
Strange news coming out of Montreal, Mike Ribeiro has not been in contact that with his good friend and agent. Looks like his demons may have got the better of him once again.

I know he may not be the most liked human ever but it is sad to see another player eaten up by substance abuse.

Hopefully its just him taking time away from the grid and beating his demons with his family.

If you listen to the interview. He will see his family then just "disappear in to the wood works". Seems like a pretty bad situation for all involved at the moment.

Taking a while to get to 5000

NHL Network Radio just had a story about it him, made it sounds like he's just retiring and is still in the Nashville area. Now, if they were wrong and he is in fact missing its a pretty poor effort of investigating/reporting on their part. Also unfortunate would be the broadcaster's poor choice of words, saying his career "showed no signs of life"

Sure seems like it was a poor research, the Interview with his lifelong friend and agent made it out to sound like the last time anyone in the family, including himself and the NHL, had contact with him was 3 weeks ago. This was a conversation between himself and his mother-in-law, where she had some very choice words about his recent life choices.

As an recovered alcoholic and addict this may explain a lot. She should stay the #### out of the conversation with him, sure she can support her daughter but don't talk to the guy.

They were going to use a buyout on him and gain a pick by taking him off of Arizona's hands. Never would have put on the Jersey

The Flames only wanted the 1st round draft pick and probably would have bought him out. The real question is maybe the Flames support system could have helped him.

I always liked Ribeiro and this guy managed to look like prime Pavel Datsyuk every time he stepped out on the ice against us. Hope he's doing well.

Likely on a bender somewhere. Hopefully they convince him to go to rehab when they track him down.

The guy has his demons for sure with addictions, but he isn't a saint. Read up on the nanny incident.
The guy needs to get his life together, for the sake of his children and most of all his own.

No one is calling him a Saint. The things you are describing often go hand in hand. The man needs help and suggesting he should be able to do it on his own is just ignorant.
