Well, it wasn't Chiasson.

Ehh, not surprised, Washington is paper-thin on the left side. He might get a one-year deal as their #7.

Good for him. I actually like Kevin and I wish he could have stayed on with the Flames.

I think he showed flashes of brilliance but also he had a lot of poor overall games. Defensemen mature later, so maybe there's an NHL player there. He definitely has an NHL tier name.

Good luck to him! Always liked him here, but like another poster said there wasn't enough opportunity for him this year

I don't think I've ever seen brilliance. Steady, unspectacular plays? Sure.

I thought Jyrki was quite good but needed some more seasoning. His opportunity with the Flames was very good for him. It exposed some of his weaknesses and highlighted some of his strengths.
I thought he was a good puck handler and skater which helped when he wasnt quite in the right spot. I thought he panicked a bit with the puck in the o-zone.
I see him as a bit of an Anton Stralman development path. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays on with the Caps.

They also need minutes, they have to have time to iron out their game at game speed and on a team where you're low on the depth chart you just arent likely going to get those minutes.

Well Washington lost Shattenkirk, Alzner and Schmidt, so maybe there's a spot.

I used to have this weird recurring dream of all the Flames players doing a Conga line and they were all wearing grass skirts. There was this rapper doing this rap and it was something like
Jyrki Jokipakka will he ever score a goal?
Jyrki Jokipakka goddamn just score a goal
and then the the main chorus was something like:
Jyrki Jokipakka, Jyrki Jokipakka, Jyrki Jokipakka......damn.
There was other lyrics but I don't remember them.
Ok, I am freakin weird and I will shut up now.
