Question Want to convert component video signal to high definition output

Hi all. I have an xbox that does not have an HDMI output, but I do have the component cable output which still allows for high def output on my TV. Now recently both of the component cable inputs on my TV magically broke and I am unable to use the component cables anymore as I only get sound and no picture. I have used 3 other component cables and my conclusion is that it is indeed my television's inputs that are broken and not the chords. So I'm stuck using the old crappy RCA cables and as you all know, the graphics now suck.

My television does however have HDMI inputs which work fine. Is there some type of device (something similar to a component cable switch) that would allow for component cable input, to be output as an HDMI signal? My Google searches so far haven't found anything, but then I don't know exactly what I am looking for.

Basically its something like this, except the output would be an HDMI output. I really don't want to buy a new TV or play with my RCA signal anymore, so if anyone knows of a cheap solution I'm all ears.

A receiver will do that. Not exactly a cheap option though.

Can you use the components for video, but run optical for the audio?

Have you tried the xbox on another tv to be sure it's not the component video output on the xbox that's screwed and not the component video input on the tv?

Yes, I brought my xbox to my friend's place and hooked it up to his component cables and it worked fine. So I am certain it's the inputs on my TV.

Thanks Psyang, that looks like something that would help me out! I ordered one and will try it out tonight.
