I'll be picking this game up in the morning. I'm excited to see Master Chief back in action!

For those picking it up tonight/tomorrow, what will you be doing first? Campaign/Multiplayer/Spartan Ops? etc....

I'll probably grab it in an hour or so for the midnight launch; most exciting. I'm hoping to get some decent mileage out of the single player campaign, as I don't foresee myself getting as embroiled in Halo's multiplayer as I used to be. By pretty much all reports so far, 343 has done the Halo brand wondrous justice with this title.

I am done with Halo multiplayer. I got some millage out of Reach's horde mode but the standard adversarial multiplayer I no longer find interesting. Looking forward to playing through the campaign though.

I'm gonna try the multi but I really completely lost interest in the multiplayer with Reach.

After over an hour with the game, I'm incredibly pleased. Going by the gameplay, sound, and overall presentation I've borne witness to so far, it handily surpasses the previous Halo titles. 343's done, thankfully, a marvelous job here (hopefully I don't begin to regret that lofty assessment as I continue through the game).

Just a general question. I've never been a big fan of first person shooters, but want to give it another chance. From all the reviews, Halo 4 may be candidate for best game of 2012. If I've never played any Halo game previously, would I be lost if I picked this one up and started playing?

If you read a review or two online, you should get the gist of it.

I will likely be picking this up tonight, and then playing while I watch the election on mute.

This one looks pretty much the same as the old ones. I've probably played through all of the previous ones at my friend's house but I honestly haven't the foggiest idea what the story is about or what the characters are or if there are any real characters.

Especially with the earlier Halos, the main draw was the gameplay. The first one was really a lot of fun when it came out. The third felt a bit boring. It doesn't matter where you start.

watch "Forward Unto Dawn" (5 episodes, all on youtube - or embedded below) - it's a bit of a prologue to the game which will add to experience but the game itself is the beginning of a new trilogy, so you won't need to know much.

I'll be holding off purchase of this game for a few days so I can actually do my homework as I have a ton of presentations and assignments too.

Went 16-1 in my first multiplayer game.

This game is awesome.
